Could he be more obvious trying to save Steve Lavin's job so that UCLA continues to be mired in mediocrity?

If UCLA wins the Pac 10 tournament and Lavin keeps his job I'm going to scream.

I wondered how you'd react to this.......

I think the only thing that will save Lavin's job is to win the NCAA's itself - he's toast.

I just finished watching the game. It was a great game probably the best game so far in any confrence tourney. Lavin's days are numbered no matter what unless they make the tourney and make the sweet 16. UCLA was lucky gardner sucked today.

By 7 in OT. I tell you it's extremely awkward finding yourself almost wanting your favorite team to lose so the coach gets fired.

I was actually hoping today would be it so we could get on with the search for the next coach.

UCLA will win 20+ next year if they hire the right coach the talent is certainly not on a par with Arizona(who beat us by 30+ both games this year regular season) but the difference between UCLA and say ASU or Stanford or Cal is really marginal in talent it's all coaching and organization that puts those teams where they are compared to UCLA.

Thanks Russ!

I guess this is probably a good thing for AZ and will give the team a wake-up call heading into the tournament Im certain they will still be a #1

Russ Im certain Lavin will still be fired! Have hope!

I don't think it matters. My guess is the Wildcats kind of half-assed it since when your coach thinks the PAC10 tournament sucks then my guess is their enthusiasm level is probably low. Besides, Lavin is a great coach and would have out-ciached them anyways.

Shane, you are right about AZ being a #1 seed.

this isa good thing...history shows that high seeded teams that lose their conference tourney early do much better, and in some cases win, the NCAA title (see Kansas Jayhawks, UNLV Runnin' Rebels)....They will still be the #1 seed int he west
