I would tend to agree with you. I've been telling people the past week that the Eagles have no shot to trade-up high enough to get to Mariota...but these past few days have shown that anything is possible.
With Brian Hoyer on his way to Houston, Fitzpatrick was going to get cut.
This is a really good move by the Jets. They now have somebody to stick under center if the new coaching staff can't develop Geno Smith or a potential placeholder for Marcus Mariota.
I know BA would disagree (and frankly he is the only one that matters) but I would rather have Fitzpatrick as the #2 than Stanton. A conditional 7th round pick is nothing for a guy who is a pretty good back up.
