So the guy who gave the cursed franchise its first (and second) WS Title(s) in nearly a century is out after his GM flops on assembling the roster?

This type of knee-jerk reaction is exactly why I hate the Boston sports market. God, Red Sox Nation sucks!!! They sold their souls and became the very thing they hate, and every d-bag frat boy in the country cheered them every step of the way.

I hope he goes to the Cubs and gets them a title too. How freakin' hilarious would that be? Dare I say it would be "wicked awesome"?

That is exactly why owners should never be influenced by the fans or local sports writers/talk hosts. The Red Sox owner has clearly fallen victim to the whining of the masses.

There are an awful lot of teams in the league that would love to suck so bad that they only win 90 games. For a team that went 86 years without winning squat, they've become quite spoiled.

Francona had to put up with a lot of attitude, both from the players and fans in that town. He brought two championships to the franchise and turned them into consistent winners in the most challenging division in baseball.

I hope they enjoy fading back into oblivion as the Rays and Yanks own that division for the next decade. Welcome back curse, we've missed you!

If you are a manager of a team with that payroll, it seems reasonable to expect to be canned after the September they just had.

Looks like Theo may be following Francona out of town.. Cubs are interested, and reports have it the interest is mutual.

Theo sucks. He is given a blank check to assemble talent and he goes out and gets the big names. Yeah, that job is real hard.

Why don't the Cubs look at a non-hack like Jerry Dipoto?
