And no one ever brought this up... Kolb is the one with the most leverage period, so when everyone was saying "its between 2 teams", I think Kolb had more of a say than the public knows..

If Kolb had the most leverage, perhaps we'll know when we find out by what the Cardinals had to give up if indeed this trade is made.

I would see who would take a 2 nd round pick, take my qb and step to the right.

Good, now we have a shot at Hasselbeck. His back scares me, but other than that I've always thought he was a good QB on any given sunday (and most of them). He's got what you need in a qb, and is a proven commodity. If favre would have retired 10 years ago, this guy would have done the packers well. I would prefer getting two veterans.

Hasselbeck or Orton. I wouldn't mind both, with Skelton as 3rd. If the udfa makes the ps fine.

Kolb has a decent shot at being average imo, but Hasselbeck will be released meaning we don't give up a pick or a player, and when any QB you get being a crapshoot at this point (more so then other times), I'd rather not be betting big money on anyone available.

If we pay big money to a PM or TB that's one thing, paying big money to Kolb and giving up picks and/or players, or risking him leaving and losing those picks/players for a 1 year rent a player doesn't strike me as very good.

We have other options than Kolb. These other options have just as good a shot at being as good or better over the next year or two, with very low risk. I don't see a guy out there worth the risk in cap space, players, and draft picks to roll the dice. Kolb's not the guy I want to bet we get a homerun from. I'd rather settle for a double, and pick a guy who has a good shot at attaining that at perhaps 1/5th-1/10th the money and not give up players/picks.

...and the seahawks got TJ lol. He shows flashes, but he can also play really bad at times. I sure hope they paid alot for him.

Call it a hunch... but I'm calling it now... In a move that will shock some, I think pride will creep in and Kolb will be an Eagle in 2011, due to the Eagles not thinking they are getting adequate compensation...

I am giving the Cards credit for potentially not bidding against themselves, but I just get a feeling now, that Kolb will stay in Philli this Season and they will attempt to trade him during the Draft next year (and for the record if they do you can't think a team will give them more than a 3rd or 4th right?)

you heard it here first... :D

Or Kolb told them he would not sign an extension with them.

OR the Eagles are asking for way too much in return and teams don't have time to waste in a bidding war over an unproven QB in a shortened off-season and the Seahawks are smart enough to not waste their time.

He'll be a free agent ant end of season, and can't be traded.

(He'll simply sign as a free agent with AZ in 2012...

Very possible, AsU...at $1.4M this year they certainly can afford him.

Plus, they may find an eager buyer at the trading deadline.

They will try to milk this one out to get what they want---the only problem is if he struggles in pre-season, he would possibly weaken his value...or, on the other hand, if he sparkles in pre-season he could raise his value.

Unless Philadelphia gets Vick into a new contract freeing up the franchise tag for Kolb (not an original thought, I'm paraphrasing Michael Lombardi or Jason La Canfora who thinks Kolb will not be moved).

Pride would be stupid. You either get rid of Kolb now or he's gone. He can't be traded during the draft when it's the last year of his deal, they will have already lost him via free agency.

As I understand it the new league year will not start until June 1st, meaning he would be technically under contract and they could trade him during the draft next year.... though you have to think Kolb could simply say no to every trade since no team would trade for him unless he signs an extension before...

They won't get NEARLY as much if they hold on to him, but in theory they could still get a draft pick in 2012 and keep him as a back up this year...

But I agree if I were him I'd be pissed if they didn't trade me right now and would not reard them by agreeing to be traded for any compensation when I would be an UFA in 2 more months anyway...

Jurecki was reporting about an hour or so ago that the Eagles wanted DRC and a First Round pick for Kolb. He said that the Cards had already offered DRC, and now would be willing to toss in a 2nd rounder, but not a first.

I think we ought to be careful what we wish for. If ML does win that job, you can bet he's going to want to have some good games in AZ.

Also, I think Jackson isn't that bad. He's the kind of mobile QBs that traditionally give us fits.

DRC and a second would be insane. At this price say no to Kolb. Offer a couple of seconds and move on. Screw the Iggles.

I agree.. offer the Eagles a 2nd and a 3rd, and if not move on to Orton..

Here is the question.. According to reports the Broncos are asking for a 1st or 2nd round pick for Orton...

What would you give up for Orton if the Eagles balk at our offer?

I say no more than two 3rd round picks...

thoughts?

I'd give the Broncos a 3rd for Orton without guarantees on a contract extension. I'd be happy with that deal, and the Broncs should be, too. Two thirds is way too much. Maybe a 3rd and a 5th.

Ahem, it's going to be a three way race for the starting job there between Jackson, Whitehurst and... Matt Leinart.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6...-sources-say?campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines

I think Leinart wins this job.

I don't mind seeing a QB competition run this way. If I was GM of the team, I'd bring in Hasselback, Trent Edwards, and John Skelton and let them fight it out.

If people here believe in roster spot competition making everyone better like they say, then they should think that this is a great idea. What an interesting crucible for how to run a franchise Seattle is going to be next year.
