Bill O'Brien was a good coach who shouldn't get any personnel control.

The guy brought Penn State back from the dead & won multiple divisional titles in Houston. Yes, he's a damn good HC. Awful GM though!

He made the playoffs with Brock Osweiler and TJ Yates. Bryce Young also was the best college QB this year. He’s a whisperer.

Yea, with the benefit of facing atrocious Tennessee & Jacksonville teams & Indy teams that had much inferior talent to Houston + Luck missing a decent amount of games.

Bryce Young was also the #1 recruit in his class. BoB did his part, but it’s not like he built up a 3 star.

He also turned Matt McGloin into a NFL backup QB while at PSU. Before O'Brien, McGloin never would have sniffed a NFL roster spot. I would take O'Brien over deadbeat Franklin any day of the week at PSU again.

Not a fan. He's okay, but he doesn't seem to me to be a superior HC. I live near Houston and he's not fondly remembered here, mostly for the Hop trade. However, he simply rubbed a lot of folks with the Texans (and in the local media) the wrong way. Regardless, if I were a Jax fan I'd be underwhelmed.

For the record, there is another side of Bill O'Brien which most are not aware. I am not saying I agree with all his handling of players but also saying there is a part of him as a human being removed from coaching which also needs to be known. I was not aware of this till a friend of mine who adapts houses for the handicapped did some work at O'Brien's house
