I am in charge of recruiting and training new employees for my job. We are in need of a few more loggers, so I figured I would look here since people are obviously interested in basketball.
Ok guys, first off let me tell you about the company.
Synergy Sports
It is a scouting company in essense. We record every NBA game, and do a breakdown in 2 different phases. First off, we split the video into possessions, so it is possible to log the events. This is all done near live, and is usually finished about a half hour after the game ends.
Secondly, we take each possesion clip created in phase 1, and break it down. We describe the play type, and the result.
This information is then compiled into our system, and lets us create our program. VDO Coach (Our program) is what NBA teams purchase. It is one of a kind. A coach can look at any players efficiency and effectiveness in any area of offensive production. It gets very in depth, such as how effective a player is when he posts up on the left block, spins right and does a hook shot. While a coach is looking at this information, a search engine is continually updating game clips that the coach can look at.
A teams video coordinator used to work through the night if a coach wanted all of Shaq's post up moves from the past 5 games. Now the coach can pull it up within a few seconds. Not to mention we still provide the typical printed reports every other company offers.
This is the first year the company is releasing its product to the teams. The CEO was the Suns video coordinator for years before untaking this project. The guy who wrote the program used to be a senior programmer at microsoft.
This is a really watered down explanation of the company. Anyone who is interested will get a much more in depth explanation of what we do.
Here is what I am looking for:
Local people (Phoenix Area). We really need coverage help over the holidays while several people leave town. We will most likely retain everyone we hire, but the amount of games they get will most likely lessen to an average number of around 3 a week (if they desire that much). You will have to be available for a good part of the next month and a half (days here and there you need off are fine, just not a week and a half)
Preferrably regular posters. This is just a comfort level issue for me. It is not a sticking point, especially is someone feels they are especially qualified (or would be seriously dedicated) for the job.
People who are college students or older. Also a preference thing. Maturity level, reliability, secheduling efforts ect. seem to come better with age. Or at least thats what I am told.
You will NEED high speed internet to do this. All games are logged via an online feed, dial up cannot handle it.
I am hiring for Phase 1 only. It is pretty easy to do, but accuracy is EXTREMELY important. We pay 35 bucks a game, and figure it will take 15 minutes more than the game time to do. Also, you will have breaks here and there while things are downloading.
If you want some extra cash, and would like to watch NBA games while you work, I couldn't think of a better opportunity. I will update thread if anything else comes up.
To apply, please just send me a PM telling me you are interested. Make sure to include your email address and a contact phone number. I will reposond with some sort of an application and a more detailed explanation of how things work. Please don't include a resume in your PM, just simply say that you are interested and provide your contact info.
