LA Rams Close Season Ticket Campaign With 56,000 Deposits

http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/l...ets-Chargers-NFL-368218841.html#ixzz3zjR9WY3W

The Los Angeles Rams accepted more than 56,000 season ticket deposits during a four-week campaign propelled by the announcement last month that the team will be returning to Southern California.

The $100 refundable deposit gives fans priority the purchase season tickets this spring before the general public. The team reported more than 5,000 deposits in the first five minutes that the site was live Jan. 18.

The campaign closed Monday.

"We are inspired by how enthusiastically NFL fans in Southern California have responded to the return of the Los Angeles Rams," said Rams Chief Operating Officer/Executive Vice President Kevin Demoff. "We will reward their passion by providing a terrific game day experience at both the Coliseum this fall and ultimately in Inglewood. We can't wait to welcome our fans on Sundays and become an integral part of the Greater Los Angeles community."

So, if you were a loyal St. Louis Rams' fan with season tickets for all of the years the team was there...that is all just wiped out and all season ticket holders start over at zero? Wow.

That and the entire PSL issue should really be addressed at some point, IMHO.

Haven't been keeping up with the news here in St. Louis but unless it was dismissed some Rams PSL holders here sued them for the right to buy season tickets in LA still. The contract they had said it was for the team not the stadium. So this issue is not done yet.

I was wondering this as well...seams the owner wants to just push this all forward as fast as he can and leave the lawsuit behind...progress ya know...

Those stadium plans look awesome, they won't have any trouble filling that unless they totally overprice.

Gee, do you think that might happen? Silent Stan is paying what, $2b to build that palace? Add the LA/California gouge factor, and I'll bet the cost of attending games there will make Jerrah Jones' crazy pricing in Dallas look dirt cheap! The PSL fees will be outrageously high, and game tickets too, no doubt. Don't forget about parking, easily $40+.

UoP Stadium only cost $455m to build, hence we slide without PSLs and quite reasonable ticket costs. Considering we have a facility that's been ranked in the Top 10 in the WORLD, we're extremely fortunate. Bidwill built at just the right time. Costs are skyrocketing now, along with owners' egos and their desires to build something bigger & fancier than everything else out there.

If the team doesn't compete, they would have trouble filling it at $5 a seat.

Traffic in this area is brutal, if they don't put a good product on the field, no one is sitting in traffic for 3-4 hours to sit in a nice stadium.

Its the Rams. I bet 85% of LA's population does not know who the hell their starting QB is.

Well to be fair, I don't think the Rams even know who their starting QB is as he likely isn't on the roster.

When they find out the cost of the PSLs and season tix, there will be a lot less. Five years from now the place will be half empty.

moving to LA, getting the stadium....it all represents a huge increase in the value of the team. If the guy is a smart business man he will get it all set up,...then sell the team....realize an 200% return on investment
