See any thread in regards to contract status, extensions, holdouts, etc and you'll see plenty of venom there.

Haha that amount of hate for Crabtree is ridiculous in this thread. I bet it would be the other way around had you guys drafted him.

If the roles were reversed, there would be 10 threads on the Niners board laughing at us, calling the Cards "cheap" etc.

Of course we are loving Crabtree's holdout.

If you really feel good about Crabtree's holdout why are the Niners being so cheap? Pay the man! :D

Pay him? no way. I am tired of all these dumb rookie hold outs. Frankly, they need to prove themselves in the nfl first because they deserve a big payday. This 49ers should set an example for every other team in the league right now. We could always trade his rights for a lower pick in 2010 and let him suffer.

It takes 2 to tango. Why would another team trade a pick for the right to pay Crabtree the $40 million plus he is looking for? He is going to play for the 49ers or re-enter the draft, he will not be traded.

Your first post on here that is actually legit.
They should set an example for the league that a slotted rookie cap is necessary. I think the new NFLPA head is in favor of that.
I don't think there is a market for his rights. I don't think any team in this league wants to deal with the headache of a rookie holdout, especially one whose health is a concern. That foot has a big fat question mark on it.

Parker held Wadsworth out for the entire offseason. He didn't sign till the night before our first regular season game.

This could get real ugly for the 49ers.

A team will pay him good money if we traded him, trust me. It won't be as much as what the 49ers are offering now though. Crabtree would have to take it because no team will pay him top 10 money next year after what's happenning now.

Why wouldn't another team sign him for a 2nd or 3rd round pick? he's a top 10 talent.

What is interesting, and I didn't know this before, but apparently Michael Crabtree actually originally went to Texas Tech on a Basketball scholorship...

You never know :)

Honestly, Crabtree wasn't going to contribute much this season anyway. We have guys like Morgan, Bruce, Jones, Battle and Hill already steps ahead of him.

Worst comes the worst, the 49ers have 2 1st rounders next year that they could spend on either Benn or Bryant.

Somebody is giving Michael horrible, horrible advice.

It's like watching a car wreck in slow motion. I mean, I kind of dislike the whiners, but you hate to see a young kid hurting his chances in life like this. It sucks.

Just take the slotted money and shut up Michael. Shut your yapper.

No kidding. Jerod Mayo, who was the 10th pick in last years draft, signed a contract worth $18.9 million, including $13.8 million in bonuses and guarantees. His contract offer from the 9ers has to be more than that, but even if it isn't, you take that money and invest it and, according to conraddobler, you'll be poor within the next couple of years. :D

In kind of a sad way I do hope he sits out and re-enters in 2010 and gets much less money. Don't think it will happen but maybe it will kick the NFLPA in the rear and realize why you need slotted rookie contracts so the insanity is avoided.

If Crabtree wasn't going to contribute more than those guys he must be awful. None of those WRs have defensive coordinators up at night worrying about stopping them(Bruce at one time not anymore).

If you think those guys are steps ahead, then why did the 9ers brass draft him with their #1 pick?

You guys have major deficiencies at every position on offense, aside from RB

Because he was the BPA?? that's how you draft in order to win Superbowls but I wouldn't expect the Cardinals to understand that. Yea our WRs might not be as good as yours but we don't suck. We ranked 13th in passing last year and our run game is legit with Gore and Coffee. Your run game on the other hand is non existent. Yup, dead last in the league by far. I don't know how your run game could be worst than the Lions but yep it was. Wells had always been an injury prone in college and it looks like he's keeping his credibility there....nobody is scare of that guy or Hightowel...Highpower....or whatever his name is.

Bring on the CARDS!

That was a rhetorical question. He was the BPA and the best fit for your team at the time. You guys needed a receiver, although you have no QB to get him the ball. You're not convincing me that you are ready to oust the Cards as the NFC West champs.

Your passing offense being ranked 13th is no big deal, you had to throw all the time as you were trailing most games.

Your pass protection is non-existent. Yup, dead last in the league by far. I don't know how it could be worst than the Lions but yep it was.

Remind me again what you did to improve your OLine?

More so than the Niners do! The Cardinals (this current team) has been to a Super Bowl, while the Niners have been cellar dwellers for a better part of the decade. (It's hilarious how Niners fans talk about Super Bowls, the last one over a decade ago).

Also....your ownership has no ties to the old ownership that won a Super Bowl. So suck on that! :p

Don't suck? LOL HOMER! Bruce? Sucks... Battle? Sucks.... Morgan? Eh, who knows.... Hill? Sucks

And the Cards offense with the worst running game in the league was STILL A TOP RANKED OFFENSE!!! You didn't mention that objective fact :p While the Niners were barely competent.

The Niners finish 3rd in the NFC West. Having Vernon Davis as a team leader is sad. I respect Willis and other players, and believe you will be improved from last season, but will be no better than 8-8.

The Cardinals real competition to win the NFC West will come from the Seahawks, who have a healthy Matt Hasselbeck and TJ Housh and strong lineman. However, our core of Boldin, Fitz, AW, Dansby, Warner, Dockett, DRC is as strong as any core in the league.

OK, I really didn't wanna start dissing the Cards but since you guys started dissing my team first I am going to end it.

First of all, don't even start with the whole ownership thing because you guys clearly have the worst one in the league along with the Lions. And our new ownership still has ties with Eddy. Jed York is the new owner now and he talks to Eddy everyday.

Second of all, yea we've been a below average team for the past 5-6 years or so but you guys have been WORST for the past TWO DECADES! In fact, you guys have been the doormat of the league for the past 62 YEARS!!! Not until last year, did you guys do anything that was to be proud of. Even so, the Cards did not win anything yet. NOTHING. You don't see any Bills fans running around bragging about their "SB appearances". When it comes down to it, where are your rings? Win them first then you can brag all you want.

Lastly, I came here in peace but you guys didn't appreciate that so now I am gonna tell the truth and it hurts doesn't it?

With that said, I look foward to playing you guys next season and hopefully the Cards will compete.

And because he talks to Ed, (who had to give up control to his sister becuase he got in trouble with the law and was barred from the NFL by the NFL for a year, and he would still be your, and I fully admit great owner if he wasnt a criminal, truth hurts doesnt it), a couple of times a year doesnt really mean jack squat, they are brother in laws of course they will talk time to time, but York clearly makes the decisions and puts his stamp on the pay checks. Thats like Crabtrees cousin/advisor thinking he is something meaningful, just because he is associated with him.

Man its like a 50 year old Al Bundy bragging about the one time he scored 4 TD's in one game in high school. Live in the now, I mean you werent even born yet to even know what the Super Bowl even felt like. Over the last 10 years who has more playoff wins? Its a what have you done for me lately league.

joeschmo, I have a 20 year old Bears fan i NEED you to meet. this kid brags about the 85 bears like he was there, problem is he was born in 88! He could brag about the 06 bears, but he never talks about them. It's all 85. so annoying. And he doesn't realize the 77 Falcons were a better defense.

See I mentioned this in my last post! You can't live in the now, you mention things that have happened in the past, which is not indicative of the future. No bragging here, just pointing out how delusional Niners fans have become. Every year it's the same thing, "This is the year we return to GLORY! Bryant Johnson is the next Jerry Rice! Shaun Hill is the next Joe Montana!" LOL.

Fact is the Niners consistently make terrible personnel decisions. Everyone and their brother knew Alex Smith was a terrible pick. Obviously Willis was a good pick, though anyone would've made that pick. Objectively, the Cardinals are better than the Niners at every position other than runningback and probably tight end. Quarterback? Cards Offensive line? Cards Receivers? Cards Defensive line? Cards? Linebacker? Other than Willis, the Cards have much more depth. Defesnsive back? DRC is better than Clements (the most overrated CB in the game).

The Cardinals basically have a new owner who is obviously committed to winning. We have a proven team that went to a Super Bowl last year. We have a proven coach who has changed the culture of the team, which again is proven by a Super Bowl berth. For those aforementioned 62 years, the Cardinals were lead by Billy boy, a cheapskate who never committed to winning.

Quit confusing the old Walsh-Montana-Young-DeBartolo Niners for the Singletary-Hill/Smith-Jed York led Niners. The Niners have been barely better than worst teams in the NFL over the past decades, and on a few occasions, have been worse than the Lions.

LOL I am old enough to have felt 3 SB wins. Yep, three, and I'm not even even passed 30. Now as far as SB losses, lifelong 49ers fans don't know what those feel like. Yep, we've been spoiled and I know you guys are jealous.

IF you guys had any rings you would brag too so don't give me that living in the past crap. Only the ones with NO achievements would say such a thing. You see the Cowboys and Steelers flashing their tittles everywhere they set foot on....are they living in the past too? it's called a tradition which I don't expect the you guys to understand.
