Rams' Robert Quinn charged with drunken driving

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/rams-robert-quinn-charged-drunken-185046230--nfl.html

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- St. Louis Rams defensive end Robert Quinn is facing charges for allegedly driving drunk.

In addition to the drunken-driving charge, Quinn is charged with failure to exercise a high degree of care, and with having no insurance.

Quinn was the Rams' first-round draft pick in 2011, the 14th overall selection out of North Carolina. He was third on the team with five sacks in 2011.

Can we just confiscate all the keys to all Cardinals cars?

Lock them in a hotel til January?

If we do that, we are going to end up being the only team in the NFL with a full roster.

Fortunately all the bars at training camp are across the street from where they practice. No worries about DUI's there.

Is it the NBA that has a free chauffeur service for its players?

Not that it matters much for some of their idiots, but at least they're trying.

The NFL offers a similar, but more upscale version of the same service. For free to any player. The 800 number is on all player union cards.

Trust me: Player DUI arrests are about more than poor judgment

Dont wanna celebrate someone elses' misfortune, but im not mad to hear the Rams are having problems controlling their talent.

This was a matter of time with Quinn, and Janoris Jenkins is thoroughly proving his critics right.

Thanks for the read. Interesting. Hadn't heard this: "One player source says teams will use the number of times a player activates the service when contract time arrives and then use that information against the player. It's allegedly happened on several occasions."

Doesn't excuse it but it does help explain why the program isn't popular.

Any agent worth his salt will be able to turn that in the players' favor.

GM: "Hey, superstar. Looks like you like to party and drink a lot. you used the driving service 40 times last year. tsk-tsk."

Agent: "Are you kidding me? You have a smart young man sitting here in your office and you're admonishing him for using his good judgement? Let's move on before you say something that wouldn't put the organization in a good light."

Maybe they should change the requirements, then. Don't limit it to only people who have been drinking and you don't have this issue.

Besides, in a way, it's not really fair to give a gift to people who have been drinking but not to people who haven't.

I will never understand why these players don't just call a cab or that freaking FREE NFL driver service! It's not like they can't afford a freaking 50 dollar cab ride home!!

This entire division is imploding with off field issues. Knock on wood I give Wiz and lockerrom leaders credit for policing each other and keeping out of trouble, thus far.

Did you see the "thus far" Football Gods?!?! Don't smite me!

Yeah but even if brought to light by agent, in the court of public opinion the majority won't think "smart guy" but rather "geez he's an alcoholic". That would do more harm to player then good. It's the nature of society. We build them up to tear them down.

Not to mention the team maybe turned off and may not even say anything. They may just say we are not paying this guy. He parties too much. In the business world I might go out all the time, but I wouldn't want my Boss to know that and have that color his opinion of my work.

By the way that was hypothetical. I don't party anymore and am my own boss :)

Still no excuse for drunk driving. But maybe rather then a car service, why don't they just have someone in their posse drive? or hell even use their fame for a DD. I'd stay sober to drive Fitz around all night.
