Who's your pick to win this series?

To me, the key you want to keep an eye on here is this..

The Giants defensively make a LOT of flubs. Texas is the last team to make those errors against, they're too good on the basepaths and have the bats in the lineup to make things ugly quick.

Pitching, San Francisco has the slight advantage, but with Lee that advantage isn't as steep.

I'll go with the Rangers in 6. They're red hot now and have the tools to beat SF.

I'll also go with Rangers in 6. Can't see Giants scoring enough runs.

Lincecum is really the only dominant pitcher the Giants have, besides the closer Wilson, and he will be up against Cliff Lee.

Cain and Sanchez are both hit and miss. If Texas' hitting stays as hot as it's been so far this post-season, the Giants have no shot.

The Giants' only shot is to keep the games close and low scoring and let their bullpen take over.

For what my opinion is worth:

I think this World Series appearance made the probability of Cliff Lee returning to Texas even higher. The Rangers will get added revenue for making the World Series, and if they win it, more money will be coming their way to offer Lee.

On top of things, he and his wife's family reside near Little Rock, which is a 5 hour drive and 40 minute flight from the Dallas- Fort Worth- Arlington metroplex. Lee grew up admittedly a Ranger fan with Nolan Ryan as his idol.

Lastly, Lee's wife loves Dallas, as does Cliff. His wife also hates the idea of going to and living in New York.

It's been assumed Lee would be targeted heavily by the Yankees, but don't be shocked one bit if he takes less money to stay in Texas. I've heard rumors of a 4 year, $75 million extension offer the Rangers are preparing, which Lee allegedly is in favor of.

In free agency, nothing is surprising anymore but don't be stunned if this WS trip is enough to entice him to stick and be part of the growth of the Ranger organization.

It's all going to depend on how greedy he is. No matter how much revenue the World Series generates for the Rangers, the Yankees will be able to double their offer to Lee. Yanks will throw $150M at him for six years as a starting point.

You have a point, however here's another to keep in mind..

Texas: 0 state income tax.

The Rangers are also expected to make a major gross yearly with the new regional television network. If it comes down to 2 - 3 million per, which with tax figures included, it will, I see him signing in Texas.

Also, wives have a big say, and his absolutely HATES New York.

Reports are out that Lee's wife had beer thrown on her at Yankee Stadium by some unruly fans. Not a good way to win over a potential FA signee.

Rangers in 5

Hoping for Rangers in 5 or 6.

To me it all depends on which C.J. Wilson shows up, and in a close game if Feliz doesn't get all crazy trying to close it.

Feliz looked a little nervous/overwhelmed each appearance I saw him in the ALCS.

DFW is a great place to live...the economy is doing well here dispite what's going on in the rest of the nation.

Rangers in 6!!!
I never thought in all my life I would witness the Redbirds in the Super Bowl & the Rangers in the WS. I've got tix to game 3 & been attending those games in Arlington since they arrived in the early '70's as a little boy. My Dad is smiling in heaven today. :D

Sanchez, yes. Cain has been consistently great all season long.

Yep, I hate the Giants, but I have to give credit where credit is due. Cain pitched a masterful game and the Giants are looking like a championship team.

However, the toughest part lies ahead. On the road with their #3 and #4 starters. If they blow the next two and let Texas back in the series with confidence, it can turn in a hurry. Giants can't count on beating Cliff Lee again in game 5.

They just need to take one in Texas, which I think they will. They've completely outplayed Texas in every facet thus far in the series.

Texas Rangers bullpen has been a disaster. This series will go back to SF.....with SF holding a 3-2 series lead.

Great pitching will usually always beat great hitting. Besides Sanchez, the Giants pitchers have been solid.

Thought it was cool when Buck went through former Giants like Cepeda, Bondsx2, Garrelts, etc., who never won rings.
