Report: “Insulted” Horton leaving Titans for Browns

Ray Horton felt “insulted” by the Titans and will leave to become the Browns’ defensive coordinator, The Tennesseean reported Sunday.

The report said Horton had requested and been granted a release from the Titans to join Hue Jackson’s staff in Cleveland.

John Wooten, chairman of the Fritz Pollard Alliance, said Horton felt insulted and “disrespected” that the Titans didn’t consider him a legitimate head coaching candidate.

Horton once again proves himself an immature crybaby....dude should just retire from the NFL...go coach girls lacrosse or something.

Probably a good opinion for him, he should have had as much of a shot as Mike Mularkey. Besides, Hue WANTS him in Cleveland

He really does deserve a shot. I don't like the continued attitude..... But the dude is very good at what he does.

I pretty sure the Titans Defense has sucked the past two years. Now some of that is obviously a lack of talent on both sides of the ball but it's crazy to cry that you should be considered as a HC when your D unit is stinking on ice.

Ray, you will never get a head coaching job if you throw a fit about not becoming HC every time your HC gets fired.

Well, they were 12th in Total Defense this year...which isn't bad, considering they had a rookie QB and were -14 in Turnovers...

The Titans did interview him, but obviously went with Mularkey because they need to have Marriota groomed properly.

That's for yards they were 27 in points allowed which is stinking on ice.

I appreciate everything Horton did with the Cards but he is showing a lack of class and poise when not handed a HC job,

Don't get me wrong...I think he's a big baby and world class a hole, for how he has handled things. Just look at BAY and all of his missed opportunities...you don't hear of him quitting or pouting...he just kept putting the work in and finally got his shot.

Yep, just hope he learns from this and at some point gets a chance to be a HC. If he doesn't learn from this then even if he becomes a HC he won't succeed IMO.
