Known historically as the "Birthplace of College Football", the Rutgers Football program hasn't been known for many other things (other then perennial loser) over the past few decades. It's possible that all changed yesterday. Rutgers beat Michigan State 19-14 in front of a franchise attendence record and I was very fortunate to be part of it all. The fans rushed the field at the end and the goalposts came down (i just watched, but was tempted to join in-haha). It was truly a great day for a college football program longing for it. Just figured I would share this story with all of my 2nd family- you ASFNers!

Go Cards/America!

Being a fan of Big east football (or whats Left of it) I was very happy to see Rutgers win yesterday. The score would have been larger had Rutgers take advantage of their red zone opportunities.

I've "adopted: Rutgers for the past 3 or 4 years.

You had the sense that Schiano would eventually get things turned around, but it's taken more time than expected. One of the first things he and his assistants did was to "become a high school coaches best friend and part of the wallpaper" in every HS lockerroom in the State. Then he made major forays into Florida. Good players suddenly began to show up at Rutgers.

But even after the talent started to arrive at Rutgers, it took an extra year or so for the team to figure out that it was good, how to stop losing and gain the necessary swagger you need to be successful. (An interesting lesson for the Cardinals and their current coaching regime)

Has it occurred to anyone that maybe we quit on our head coaches one season too early ?

They beat Michigan State and are acting like they just won the the National Championship. I'm not sure that I entirely understand. It was Michigan State.

They should go 3-0 with the next games against New Hampshire and Kent State.

Just go look at their past records. They are habitual losers and rarely win many games, especially opening games.

Funny thing is I was talking to my brother-in law before Saturdays game and said "Man with Ruthgers Schedule they could be 6-2 coming into Morgantown (WVU)"

The onyl question I got now is how much money should i lay AGAINST Michigan St?
