The Rams just marched down field and got to the 5 yard line and were going no huddle. All of a sudden, 2 Giants players, who were just getting into position, dropped like they were hurt. Apparently this is a tactic used to slow down no huddle. If this is true, this needs to be investigated because this is bush league. Worse yet, the Giants weren't charged with a timeout. Something has to be done because this is crap pulled in sandlot games. Not the NFL.

That move has been around for years. Good play by the defense. It's hard to legislate because what happens if a guy is really hurt? They have to sit out a play as it is and that can be costly, especially near the goal line.

Patriots would pull that move a lot too. Then again I wouldn't expect anything less from that team.

As much as the NFL tries to pride itself in being 'men', this tactic has been going on forever. And in this specific case, going down like that most likely saved the team a TD, so there's a reason why the players are told to do it.

It's not a good play. It's cheating. They should be forced to use a time out. But the Giants weren't. That's giving them an additional timeout.

It was so blatantly obvious because 2 players went down. Something needs to be done.

In the last 2 minutes it's a charged timeout.

:mulli: I hate that stuff regardless who's involved. It might not be cheating technically but it's still cheating in my book.

Meh... Been happening in NFL as ling as I have been watching. Cheating? Maybe. But its a tactic that is widely used at one point or anorher by all teams I'm willing to bet. Whatever.

I don't quite get your point. I know it happens and I know it's happened for years but that doesn't make it right. We live in a world where everyday people are learning the message that right and wrong are of little consequence. All that matters is what you can get away with. I was just a little surprised to see you as a cheerleader for this kind of behavior. You deserve a spanking.

If the d player is gassed from no huddle, what other recourse is there? I suppose they can call timeout, but that only works three times a half. I find it part of the gamesmanship just like the no huddle.

It's not gamesmanship. It's manipulating the rules.

Holding Is cheating too.. Yet do you have problem with it if your OL can keep his hands in tight and get away with it?

Cheating goes on on that field everyday in some form or another. It's. Tactic that teams use. Nothing more or less. Is it technically against the rules? Yes. But in the long run ey all do it so it is a universal tactic. Thus it doesn't bug me.

I think the rules allow for no huddle. Do you believe the rules allow for faking an injury?

Is not being able to breathe an injury? If the refs want to call a penalty call it. If not, good tactic.

Bradford just threw it at Cadillac's feet to avoid a sack, is that cheating?

This happens quite a lot in college football against fast paced teams. Some schools outright teach it. Just watch any game against the Oregon Ducks. And sometimes the players forget whose turn it is to "fall down" and two players spontaneously go down at the same time. It's kinda funny.

If it's cheating, then the problem should be with the refs who aren't throwing flags. Unless that happens, there is no reason to stop doing it, and if it works, then good for them. Anything you can get away with that gives you an advantage is a good play.

I compare it to when Derek Jeter faked getting hit by a pitch earlier in the season. It worked and he got on base. It was a good move. Anything to win.
