OTD in 1982: Aston Villa book European Cup semi-final spot

Aston Villa will be hoping to book their place in the Champions League's semi-finals when they take on Paris Saint-Germain next month.


Unai Emery's side are largely unfancied against his former employers, who are hot favourites to win the competition, but they have progressed further than this before.

Back in 1982, the Villans edged closer to being crowned kings of the continent by disposing of Ukrainian champions Dynamo Kyiv with a 2-0 victory for the hosts.
