Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy is floating the idea of reviving the OU vs OSU bedlam game. But Oklahoma Sooners football fans aren't quite as excited about the idea as Gundy is.

In response to a social media post by The Ref Sports Radio Network about the idea, one Sooners fan wrote: "Only begging for us back because they can't use us as a recruiting chip anymore."

Another commenter noted: "OU was their highest grossing game every year. It's gone now and Gundy's desperate to get some of it back. OU doesn't need it."

The Bedlam series was brought to an end last year after OU joined the SEC. But Gundy suggested on Tuesday, March 19, that it would be better for Oklahoma State to have two practices against the Sooners in April rather than an intrasquad spring game, ESPN reported.

Gundy suggested the Cowboys playing in Norman on April 12 for the Sooners' Crimson Combine, and then OU playing in Stillwater the next weekend for the Cowboys' spring finale. He also said he would be open to an alternative idea of just one spring meeting.

"[We should ] play a home and home in the spring against them," SI reported Gundy suggesting. "Charge $25 a head. They can use it for NIL. We’ll use it for NIL. If they don’t want to do two in one spring, we can do one here this year, one there next year and split the gate."

Some Sooners fans are finding the whole thing humorous.

In response to a social media post about the idea by The Ref Sports Radio Network, an OU fan wrote: "Little brother already begging for bedlam to back since it’s their only profitable game."

Another person replied, "I don’t hate this idea, but let’s be real, Gundy is grasping at anything to keep his team relevant right now. He learned real fast who the bread winners of the Big 12 were and what happened when they left. It didn’t help that OSU was more abysmal than most years this year."

However, not everyone is against the idea. In response to a social media post by Boomer Backfield, one person wrote: "I love it! They can raise money for both teams!"
