J.J. Arrington or Marcel Shipp?: Cardinals head coach Dennis Green has been mum on this issue all week long. In a reminder of why he turned off so many Vikings fans during his 10-year run in Minnesota, Green has been telling the Arizona media that he hasn't given much thought to whether Arrington or Shipp will get the start against the Cowboys on Sunday. We'd believe Denny if he told us that he hadn't given any thought to diet and exercise for the last 15 years, but the fact that he repeatedly chooses treat fans (and fantasy football owners) like they're idiots is maddening. The buzz in Arizona is that Shipp will get the start on Sunday. However, Arrington has also taken some reps with the first-team offense in practice this week, so fantasy owners should hold off listing either player in their lineups until a starter is named.

I know when I really just want to say "it's none of your business" to someone, but need to be polite, I'll say something like "I haven't really thought about it that much."

I feel really bad for the fantasy football guys, too. :p

If your fantasy team hindges on who starts at RB for the Cardinals than you probably shouldn't be playing

I'm pretty sure neither will get the start against the Cowboys on Sunday, considering they're playing the Seahawks. ???

I might have to start Shipp on Sunday :( It's either him or Michael Bennett :( What can I say, this is 'bye' week and my RB situation opposite of Rudi Johnson must suffer for it.

I have Kevin Jones on a bye and I think Bennett is more of risk that Shipp...maybe if we have as many red zone ops this weekend Shipp can get in once or twice...just a gamble I need to take I guess.

I hope you're right, but remember Shipp hasn't had a TD since 2002.

Right, but he's a guy you just don't bench, unless you have Tomlinson or some other great option ahead of him.

Bennett unsure of starting role
September 24, 2005 VIKE0924.SIDE

Running back Mewelde Moore appears to have moved ahead of Michael Bennett on the depth chart at running back and is expected to start Sunday.

Bennett, who was benched in last Sunday's 37-8 defeat at Cincinnati after losing his second fumble of the game in the second quarter, said he was with the first-team offense "maybe once" in Friday's practice.

Moore opened team drills with the first unit.

"I don't know who is starting," said Bennett, whom the Arizona Cardinals expressed interest in trading for this week. "My coaches told me I'd be a minute man, so I don't know what that means. ... What can I say? Who am I? What am I? I don't get it. But..."

Offensive coordinator Steve Loney said he didn't know what Bennett had heard, but the term "minute man" meant nothing to him. "Even if we had a plan that was a different name, I'd know what he's talking about," Loney said. "But I have no clue what he's talking about. Not a clue."

Loney declined to reveal who would start Sunday, but he indicated that Bennett is part of the game plan.

"He'll get his opportunities and, like always I think, that position is one that you have to be productive," Loney said. "But you also have to allow those guys to get their reps and get into the flow of a game and so on."
