Anquan Boldin...a good running back with great hands. I know when they have given him the ball in the backfield it has not always be for a lot of yards and sometimes for a loss...but the plays where more trick oriented and seeing him in the backfield in those occasional plays made the defense concentrate on him to get the ball but something tells me that Boldin is a running back at the WR position. Why don't we switch his position, let Edge go, and then pay him as a top back LOL

I will say this, with Breaston's break out year...why not at least have Boldin as our third down back?

I really like the idea as Boldin as an offensive specialist. Running plays out of the backfield on draws, screens, and passes in the flat as well as in the slot and split wide.

The problem with Boldin as a running back is I don't want the guy taking on linebackers all game. Boldin should work to get behind linebackers and get the ball not get the ball and try to run through linebackers.

The dude is a playmaker but he is not a RB replacement.

He is close but his body has not been trained to take the pounding that a RB takes. I think he looks close but he would NEVER withstand 20-30 carries a game.

I appreciate what Edge did for the team, but its time to accept the fact that he is gone as soon as they find another RB that can split carries with TH...

I did the post with factoring that Edge might be gone when the season starts, yes...Edge is our best back IMO. Boldin is actually built like a HB, more so than most HBs but he is fragile due to all the hits I think he has suffered so far dating back to his physical play in college but he would be the perfect third down back. And this fascination with the wildcat formation? Well, tell me a better player suited for the wildcat than Boldin? Boldin would thrive in an offense like Miami till the playoffs come around and such gimmic formations get shut down by a good defense

BTW, I like Tim Hightower...a excellent short yardage back and change of pace guy but I do not think he has the skills to be a everydown back...maybe I'm wrong and would not mind being wrong about that at all LOL
