It wasn't you implying it was hid, conrad.
If they weren't going to re-sign Warner then they HAD to believe Leinart was the guy. Obviously, they didn't. Instead, they actually promised a nothing QB he'd have a chance to beat out Leinart if he re-signed. How could they turn the reins over to Leinart when they weren't even sure he was a good #2?
This isn't another Montana and Steve Young situation. Neither one of our guys is as good.
Well they were wrong about BSP, he's getting a million bucks to suck wind.
They were wrong about the competition, BSP got smoked, bad, bad enough that had it been truly open Warner would of probably lost too.
So it's on them for being blind to the possibility that could happen, that's a GM's job, to evaluate talent, and they have royally screwed up in doing so, paying BSP a million bucks was stupid, OMG he might go to KC, OH NO.
If they truly thought he'd beat Matt out then they're dumber than I thought they are and that goes for anyone who thought that, including Whis.
We've just sunk a ton of money into the QB position and we have a nothing burger and a washed up KW for all that money.
This isn't how good teams do it and even if it's not on the level of Young and Montana it's up there on the stupid scale somewhere.
