Well I figured I'd post this, seeing as how I just got back from a two week trip up to South Dakota to visit my grandfather. I made sure that I wore either my purple Diamondbacks home cap or my AZCardinals cap every day...just too see if I got any recognition.
First up is New Mexico. A lot of D'backs fans in Southern NM, I saw a lot of fans in Las Cruces. North NM, not so much though.
Then, we stopped in Denver. I was thinking that I'd be a rose among thorns (thorns being the Rockies fans) Well, I can safetly say that we,along with St. Louis, own Denver.
Finally we made it too South Dakota, and I was expecting it too be nothing but Twins fans. For the most part I was right, except for a city called Rapid City. Too my surprise there were some AZ sports fans there too. The Cards are pretty popular up there which, in my opinion is, great becuase South Dakota has always been a Vikings state.
I met a few D'backs fans up there, one guy had a Gonzo jersey and I saw a few people wearing caps.
So it's good to see that we've got a growing fan base, not just limited to AZ. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, I just figured we could use some good news this month.
