Alex Ovechkin scored two goals and the Washington Capitals used a three-goal third period to beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2 on Thursday night. Ovechkin, the two-time league MVP, was off to a slow start with only one goal in the first five games. He ended that slump with goals in the first and third periods to lift the Capitals to a 6-0 start for the first time in team history.
