Weird. I would think Overbay was the type of player a building team like the Brewers would hold onto. Dude has lit it up since leaving AZ.

Actually this move paves the way for Prince Fielder to become the Brewers every day 1B.... Fielder even has more potential to eclipse his father's production and then some.....

I project the younger Fielder to average 40-50 HRs, 110+ RBIs and will shock others with his defensive ability...

Quite honestly, the Brewers might actually be a major force in the NL since they have so many prospects/players that are very talented and havent even tapped into their fullest potential.....

Where does the Brew Crew plan on playing Shea? At 3rd? That'd be bad for them.
Exactly what I was thinking.

You guys are missing the key to this deal. The Brewers getting David Bush.

He's going to be a great MLB pitcher. Was very highly ranked a year or two ago.

"The Blue Jays have acquired Lyle Overbay and a prospect from the Brewers in exchange for David Bush, Gabe Gross and Zach Jackson, according to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal."

Hmm, I'm not too into the future of the Brewers, but thank you for clarifying. I'm sure Overbay would be expecting big bucks down the line and it makes sense for the Brewers to dump him if they have someone waiting for that spot. Be interesting to see if the Jays can make a run this year seeing the aditions they have made.

I don't think the Jays will be anything other than an average team. The additions they made will make them better, but I do not think they will be THAT much better.

I think the Brewers have done a great job building their team for the future. They locked up Carlos Lee who's their power hitter. They locked Sheets to a long deal and also have good, relatively young pitchers in Chris Capuano, Doug Davis, Bush, and Mike Jones. Some of you might remember Mike Jones- he starred at Thunderbird High Schoool in Phoenix, was a top-10 pick in '01, and is finally getting his shot in the big show. Other major prospects that will be on the roster are Prince Fielder and Rickie Weeks who were both top 10 picks and have enormous potential. At SS they also have Tucson native and potential future all star in JJ Hardy. Their bullpen is also surprisingly decent as they have Ohko, Turnbrow, and they just got back Dan Kolb (who could be good if he gets his head back). I think they have a good outlook
