Someone told me this morning that apparently he tried to commit suicide.

Any truth to this?

I wonder what Derek Zoolander has to say about it.

Lucky for us, we know.

H--Why you been acting
so messed up towards me?

D--Why you been acting
so messed up towards me?

H--Well, you go first.

D--I don't know. Maybe I felt
a little threatened or something...
'cause your career
is kind of just blossoming...
and mine's kind ofwinding down
or whatever.

H--And I felt like,
"This guy's really hurting me"...
and it hurt.

D--And I felt like when you told me
to "dere-lick" my balls...
that really hurt.

H--Maybe I was scared, man.
You're Derek Zoolander!

Yeah, you're Derek Zoolander.

You know what it's like to be
another model in Zoolander's shadow?

You want to hear something crazy?

Your work...

in the winter '
International Male catalog...

made me want to be a model.

I freakin' worship you, man.

D--I'm sorry I was whack.

H--I was whack.

D--I was whack.

Report Lists Reason for Owen Wilson Phone Call as 'Attempted Suicide'
Tuesday, August 28, 2007

LOS ANGELES — Police were called to Owen Wilson's home because of an attempted suicide report, according to a police log of weekend calls.

The Calls For Service report from the Santa Monica Police Department doesn't indicate who made the 911 call, but lists "attempt suicide" as the reason for the call.

The call was received on Sunday at 12:08:16 p.m. The incident was “cleared” almost five hours later at 5:07:16 p.m.

Wilson was found bloody and dazed after trying to commit suicide by overdosing on pills and slitting his wrist in the wake of a blow-up with a close friend, a source told the New York Post.

A source close to the "Wedding Crashers" actor, 38, also told "Extra" that the actor did indeed attempt suicide over the weekend, saying Wilson has been depressed for the last few months, but not over a broken relationship.

The source also told “Extra” that Wilson’s famous younger brother, Luke Wilson, found him and that Wilson’s family and friends are shocked.

"It's hard. He's such a wonderful person," a source told the New York Post. "He's such a great guy and so smart and just ... nice. We're just hoping he gets better."

He will likely remain under the close watch of doctors for at least the next several days, one source told the Post.

Wilson's last serious romantic relationship — with actress Kate Hudson — ended just before Memorial Day.

Hudson had been spotted over the weekend very publicly canoodling with her new love Dax Shepard, but sources told the Post that did not contribute to Wilson's emotional turmoil.

Wilson's older brother, Andrew, appeared worried as he left the Santa Monica house and headed to the hospital early Monday, one neighbor told the Post.

Luke Wilson was already at the hospital, a source told the Post. Other visitors included actor Samuel L. Jackson.

Wilson's uncle Joe, who shares a house with Owen, told the Post, "He's fine, and the family is doing great."

One neighbor told the Post that when she heard the ambulance, she was surprised because Wilson never causes any trouble.

"All the neighbors like him, he's a friendly guy. He never has any crazy parties or does anything wrong," Betty Miller said.

But Wilson has a history of depression.

"It's very upsetting. People are complicated. It's not just one thing," a friend of the actor told the Post.

Meanwhile, Wilson's hospitalization has left Hollywood executives in a quandary over how to move forward with movies starring the highly bankable actor.

DreamWorks Pictures said filming continues on "Tropic Thunder," a comedy starring Wilson and Jack Black. The studio, in a statement, offered no details on whether Wilson's role would be recast.

It was also unknown how Wilson's appearance opposite Jennifer Aniston in the comedy "Marley & Me" would be affected. A 20th Century Fox spokesman told Hollywood trade paper Daily Variety that "it's a totally inappropriate question at this time."

Wilson's hospitalization could also keep him from promoting "The Darjeeling Limited," co-starring Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman. The Fox Searchlight movie is set for release Sept. 29.

Paramount's "Drillbit Taylor," starring Wilson and produced by Judd Apatow, is due out in March.

On Monday, Wilson was receiving care Monday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and was in "good condition," a publicist for the hospital said.

Meanwhile, Wilson asked for privacy in a statement released through publicist Ina Treciokas.

"I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time," he said.

Wilson initially was taken to St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica by paramedics, authorities said.

A neighbor said a police car, fire truck and ambulance were outside Wilson's gated house around noon Sunday.

"These guys were kind of taking their time taking a stretcher out of the ambulance. Then they went into the house," said neighbor Geoffry White, 61, who lives across the street.

Santa Monica Fire Battalion Chief Jose Torres said Monday the department responded to a call that involved Wilson.

The actor reportedly was treated at his home by EMTs before being brought to the hospital, according to the tabloids.

"Entertainment Tonight" reported Wilson later was transferred to Cedars-Sinai to undergo detoxification. Unnamed sources said Wilson also was suffering "dehydration."

Wilson was nominated for an Academy Award for his work on the screenplay "The Royal Tenenbaums." He got his big break in the 2000 comedy action hit "Shanghai Noon," starring opposite martial arts star Jackie Chan.

He later co-starred with good friends Ben Stiller and Will Ferrell in the 2001 offbeat comedy "Zoolander." He got his dramatic break starring with Gene Hackman in the 2001 action film "Behind Enemy Lines."

Wilson returned to making "buddy comedies" in 2002 with the release of "I Spy," co-starring with Eddie Murphy.

He paired again with Chan in the 2003 hit "Shanghai Knights," followed by another turn with Stiller in "Starsky & Hutch."

Wilson's biggest film success came in 2005, when he teamed with comedian Vince Vaughn in the smash hit "Wedding Crashers," which grossed over $200 million in the U.S.

Last year, Wilson provided the voice for "Lightning McQueen" in the Disney/Pixar hit "Cars."

He later played a supporting role, again with Stiller, in the hit "Night at the Museum."

Sad, just proves money doesn't buy happiness! Always hear people say if I were rich I would have no problems! Not true!
