Who loves em? Who hates em? Time to step up.

Just bought 24 beausoleil's for my anniversary tomorrow. Mmmmmmm Oysters on the half shell.

Another obsession of mine right now? We are doing a sandwich at the new place we just opened. An Oyster Po'Boy meets Banh Mi. Dredged and fried oysters, served on a baguette, with sichuan peppercorn aioli, pickled carrot, pickled daikon, fresh cucumber, and cilantro. Holy crap, its amazing, if I do say so myself...

So, sound off on yer fave oysters.

My name is jw7 and I'm an oyster-aholic.

I love oysters on the half-shell. Yummy! Just a hit of lemon juice and a tad of cocktail sauce on those cold, bi-valve mollusks and it is tasty.

My favorite place to get them is the 777 microbrewery in the Main St. Station casino in downtown Las Vegas. Only like $10-12 for a half-dozen of awesomeness. I am going there in a couple weeks and I will easily inhale a couple dozen of those suckers.

If anyone knows a place in the Chandler/Ahwatukee/Tempe area that serves them I would love to know. Can't find any place around here that has them.

Oysters? Yes, they rock. Best oysters I have had are in Key West. A place called Raw Bar. On the half shell and rockefeller style.

But what kind?

Kumomoto?
Quayhog?
Beausoleil?
wellfleets?
malpeques?

I like petit, briny as hell oysters. Like popping an ocean booger in your mouth. Heh. Question: DO you chew? I chew. DELICIOUS

I dont like cocktail sauce on my oysters. I like a classic mignonette, or a squeeze of lime, however I once had a kumomoto with pineapple vinegar and toasted nori powder that was off the hizzey!

I do like rockefellers, no doubt. We are doing a fresh beausoleil served in a lettuce cup with braised and crisped bacon, black pepper aioli, and garlic chive kim chi on top. Out of this world.

I don't have a preference as to what kind really. I might but lemon juice on them or cocktail sauce, but usually not too much. Chew? I can't remember, I will have to try it next time.

I have eaten 30 oysters in one sitting before. Nothing but a drop of tabasco on them for me.
