Tom Arnold has joined the cast of the Lionsgate period drama P.D.R., says The Hollywood Reporter.

Terrence Howard and Bernie Mac are toplining the film, which chronicles the true-life story of Jim Ellis (Howard), who in the 1970s started a black swim team in one of the roughest neighborhoods in Philadelphia. Arnold plays the racist swim coach of the rival team.

Sunu Gonera will make his feature directorial debut from a screenplay penned by J. Mills Goodloe, Michael Gozzard and Kevin M. Smith.

It has to be tough as an actor to portray people that turn your stomach in reality.
