Looks like USC made the final 8 for Greg Monroe, top rated player in the class
of 08.
According to FOX Sports Jeff Goodman they are on his in home list which is as follows.
Duke – yesterday (Sept. 9)
Georgetown – yesterday (Sept. 9)
LSU – Sept. 11
USC – Sept. 16
Baylor – Sept. 18
UConn – Sept. 22
Kansas – Sept. 22
Texas – Sept. 25
Much as I dislike Floyd that would be a HUGE get for USC. Put him with DeRozan and look out, and he's a national recruit who actually has a TON of teams after him. Mayo fell into their lap and they really had little competition, DeRozan was local, this kid is national, he's an excellent student, he literally could go anywhere he wants.
USC is on the list because Monroe is from Louisiana and Floyd has ties to his family and AAU coaches from his days coaching at UNO. When they hired Dwayne Polee's dad as Dir of Basketball OPS I assumed that meant they were out of the Monroe recruitment(since the rumor was they were offering his AAU coach that job). Clearly that's not the case.
I've seen a bunch of video on Monroe he's REALLY good. He's kept his list really secretive and while it's always been said Duke and LSU are the leaders, he's not going to commit during the visits so USC being behind both Duke and LSU doesn't mean he'll commit before they ever get to visit.
