Do all of us a favor.

Go start a - GRAVES IS GREAT! - thread and go post your rubbish over there.

So because he thinks Pace isn't worth $20 million it follows that he thinks "Graves is great"?

FWIW, there is still no confirmation of Pace's signing at ESPN or FOX Sports. SI has been known to jump the gun on occasion.

Never. I will continue to blame Fitz and his greed for the bulk of this off season. Yes, Graves should have tried to restructure the contract during the year. In Graves defense though, he probably figured that making Fitz one of the highest paid players in NFL history would be enough for him, but his biggest mistake was underestimating Fitz's greed.

I don't actually blame Fitz for this particular event though, because no way the Cardinals would shell out $20 million for Calvin Pace, nor should they. I like Pace, but at that price, I would have let him walk as well. I blame Fitz for the fact that we have no shot at Faneca or anyone of any real value.

Faneca is a 10 year vet, with probably two good years left. Did you see the ridiculous salary he got from the hapless Jets? You wanted the Cards to pay him that salary? Come on, people. I think we can all agree that we're a better team now than a couple of years ago, and it's because we're developing our own players through the draft, and signing mid-tier free agents at a reasonable price, and not blowing the bank on a bunch of high priced, over-valued vets on the downside of their career (I guess Edge is the exception). We've already shown a willingness to overpay to keep our own players (Green and Smith) which I have no problem with since every player is overpaid. We're just not paying ridiculously high salaries to players that don't deserve it, and amen for that.

We're developing our players and when they start to get decent we fail to resign them.

Any other day I would have let this slide, but what you just wrote is so far from the truth it is comical. We are about to make a WR, YES A WR, the highest paid non QB in the league!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is not the best at his position yet, and there isn't another WR that is even in the top 25 paid. Gimme a break man. If you are gonna spread your opinion, it is only common decency to make sure there is some logic to it before you go and misinform someone else.

Has a solid year finally and bolts to Miami who is rebuilding and taking anything they can to come up with a foundation again. Pace is not worth discussing in my opinion because he was no pro bowler but players like Fitz and Dansby merit thread upon thread because they both make significant impact while on the field...Pace is a capgun in comparison.

I would wager that the Dolphins signed Pace because they are going to switch to the 3-4 now that Parcells is in town.

This was in the Miami Herald 1 hour ago:

"The Miami Herald is reporting that Pace is the lone free agent to leave Miami without a deal. They say he’s going to make a scheduled FA visit to the Jets. They quoted him about his visit and why he still wants to visit the Jets.
“I love it,” Pace told the Herald. “I’m feeling it. You know Parcells, he’s going to win wherever he goes. We’ll see man. I might be lining up on the other side of Jason Taylor.”
On why he’s going to the Jets even after saying all that:
“I’m happy here,” Pace said. “But I just feel like I should still take that trip. I’ve got one more trip to take, and we’ll see what happens.”

Worst managed franchise in professional sports. Bar none. Buffoons with abacuses.

Depends on the length of the deal. Five years and it's a deal I could have lived with. 6 years and it would have been a steal. Still and all, it looks like he has NOT signed yet.

I dont care about the length. 20 mill guaranteed is to much for Pace after one good year. 15 yes. 20 no.

I am far from a Rod Graves apologist, but you people calling for his head on this one, is laughable, pick one of his other well documented blunders, Pace is NOT worth 20 million,
Not for 5 years or 6.. or even 9 lol.

I'd sign Pace at 4 Mil. a yr. for 5 yrs. He's only 27 in his prime. No brainer. He can pressure and hit.

Thats now how it was written. it was said 20 million in guarantees. Which means just bonus. That doesnt include salary.

20 mil

I'll take Berry with his restructure over Pace with 20 mil guarenteed every day.

Maybe this was Pace's breakout season, but I think he was strongly overpaid and you cannot keep everyone in the NFL, this is one that was smart to let go if that was the kind of money he could get elsewhere.

Bye bye Pace... enjoy your money. Thanks for ONE good year. This is what weak FA does. LB in demand, supply short, so price increases.

For those blaming Fitz... get real. He earned his money fare and square. If he is even willing to restructure, that is a favor he is doing. Try giving up some of your pay check. You can run your mouths off because it is not your money.

Only way I keep Pace is if he worked for free. HE stole money for the last 4 years. Literally stole it. HE is so overhyped on this bored its funny.

He wont be giving up his pay, it will just be made more cap and team friendly... As it stands now, Fitz agent wants the team to give him the world on a 4 year deal that would force the Cards to once again renegotiate after 3 years... Graves screwed the pooch, but Fitz also appears to be being unreasonable... If no deal is done, I wouldn't cry to see both Fitz and Graves given their tickets out of town...
