...barely.

defense sucks again this year - they need serious help in the secondary - terrible, just absolutely pathetic.

That division sucks. If Randy Moss was healthy, Packers wouldn't get a sniff of first place. We'll see how it plays out.

Frankly, the whole NFC is in a down cycle.

take what? he's absolutely correct - the NFC "Norse" Division is not very good. there will not be a wild-card team coming out of that division.

the vikings are up to their regular form - play good for the first half of the season and then choke the second half.

green bay hasn't had a defense since holmgren went to the 'hawks.

detroit is slowing getting better - but they're not a threat this season - perhaps in the next couple of seasons they are going to be scary.

chicago is chicago - you never know what team is going to show up on any given sunday.

the only way a team from the North is going to the playoffs is that they'll win the division - if they broke up this division and scattered each team to a different division and/or conference - none of them would make the playoffs - even as a wild-card.

p.s.

but since that's not going to happen - green bay is leading the division and if the vikings stay true to form - green bay has a playoff spot already locked up. :D

but there is still plenty of season left - so it will either be the packers or the vikings to go to the playoffs this year.

The main thing is, can they help us....

Can Green Bay beat the lambs November 29...hope its cold as heck in Lambeau.

Can Minnesota beat the hags December 12..maybe the heater will break in Minne's dome.

Rams coming up on Monday Night Football.

glad that detroit got smoked. glad that da bears lost - it ended up being a good Thanksgiving for me after all.

unfortunately for the Packers, the Vikings have an easier schedule from here on out. each team has three road games left to play - but two of the Packers road games are the final two games of the season - thank goodness only one of those road games is in a dome...

heck yeah - 178 yards on 19 carries.

i knew he was a solid backup but man, that was a whipping. it also helps that the packers bread and butter play is the U71. they open up some sick holes for the rb's.

up next - philly - gonna be tough game on the road - especially with the ghost of 4th and 26 hanging around to haunt the defense.

Having seen him at UM I always felt he could be a good starting RB. I'm not surprised at all that he had a big game. Personally, I'd be thrilled to see him as a Cardinal. The Packers are lucky as heck to have him as a backup.

As far as the Philly game, Bettis had a big game against them. It wouldn't be far fetched to say Davenport could have a similar game if the Green Bay D can keep the score down enough to allow the Pack to keep running the ball.

well, if Davenport plays it will only be to spot Green. he's supposed to be back in the lineup next week.

what is surprising to me is that Davenport is more beat up than Green - Green's got the bruised ribs. Davenport has the bruised ribs and two bad hamstrings.

I think you are referring to the Chris Berman joke when he used to refer to the NFC Central division as the NFC "Norris" Division in reference to the same division in hockey with basically the same teams -- Detroit, Minnesota, and Chicago.

The Norris Division actually had Minnesota, Winnipeg, St. Louis, Chicago, Toronto, and Detroit. The NHL has since realigned and stopped playing. :)

"Norse" in reference to the Vikings.
