Best I can tell he was rated in the 25 to 30 range in their system in 2010-2011 and just fractured his thumb and is out 6 to 8 weeks

He is a utility infielder. I wouldn't judge him by his HR or RBI stats.

It was a dump of Arroyo's salary. Nothing more.

It is interesting that Nick Ahmed is hitting only 9 points less than Chris Owings -- .228 vs. .237 for the season. Better for Ahmed. Bad for Owings. I wonder if that is Owings' level. He has been playing a steady 2B, so it is not a case of irregular playing time.

And Jake Lamb is probably batting close to that since his return from the DL. I hope that is just a sign of working his way back from injury, especially with his lefty bat.
