The Carolina Panthers still have some work to do in their secondary, and they could bring back a familiar face to help them along.
According to Joe Person of The Athletic, the Panthers are interested in re-signing safety Nick Scott. Scott, who will be entering his seventh NFL campaign in 2025, appeared in 10 games for Carolina this past season.
Those 10 outings, which included four starts, saw Scott compile 30 combined tackles and two passes defensed.
Scott recorded the third-most defensive snaps (325) amongst all Panthers safeties in 2024, behind fellow free agents Xavier Woods and Jordan Fuller. Woods has signed with the Tennessee Titans while Fuller joined the NFC South rival Atlanta Falcons.
Carolina currently has two safeties under contract—24-year-old Demani Richardson and Tre'von Moehrig, the team's biggest free-agent signing of the offseason. Moehrig and the Panthers agreed to a three-year, $51 million deal at the start of this year's legal tampering period.
