When a machine that allows therapists to enter their patient's dreams is stolen, all hell breaks loose. Only a young female therapist can stop it: Paprika.
IMDB

This synopsis fails to capture the acid flashback that is this film. I am not a fan of anime.. but the imagery, storyline, and jaw-dropping visuals make this film a must see.

My advice for the first time watcher is don't fight the movie... just go with it. Do not try to understand the entire film in one sitting but enjoy the progression and journey through this futuristic and vibrant world. Anime lovers will proclaim this movies greatness and imagination but even the casual movie fan will instantly taken in.

This movie is unreal! I saw this movie some months ago while I was visiting San Francisco at some independent-ish movie theatre. I bought it as soon as it came out. Oh yeah, I am not a huge fan of anime either.

Recently watched it. Odd man, very odd. I'm not really sure what to say about this one. Maybe something would strike me with another viewing.
