735 OPS against lefties isn't good but it's not like we have a lot of other options out there.

The good news is it's on the rise. It went from .450 in 2009 to .700 in 2010 to where it's at now. At least you can see he's learning. If he can get that close to .800 that's an acceptable number for a LH LF.

All season long, Gerardo has been our platoon LF, starting most of the games, with Bloomquist starting vs. lefty pitchers.

Now that Bloomquist has earned full-time SS/leadoff responsibilities, and if Goldschmidt becomes the regular 1B (he is a righty batter), Nady will probably be the LF platoon vs. lefty starters.

Resting Parra vs. lefty starters has worked well so far. But it is nice to see him get a chance to see what he can do.

P.S.: I was shocked that the Dodgers field announcer pronounced "Gerardo" with a hard "G" instead of the traditional Spanish "H" sound. This in El Ciudad de los Angeles. I guess that's where he got it. The "g" in "angeles" is pronounced as a hard "g".

Wouldn't be surprised if Parra gets plunked by Kershaw today (if Parra plays). That clown was heated.

Grace was saying last night that he believes a bench-clearing brawl has been brewing between these teams all season... Today will most likely be the stage.

I won't be surprised if he doesn't play because of the lefty lefty matchup. I hope he starts.
