I watched the game against the LA Kings tonight and I have to say that our passing was just plain horrible. Just painful to watch. I never saw the players string together two passes, and one nice pass was a rare occurance. I don't know if it is the coach's fault or the player's. One thing I am certain of is that I hate how this organization trades away decent players for those with 'potential.' How often do these potential sleepers actually reach the level of the person we traded for them.

Overall, I am very disappointed in the entire team. A 5 on 3 at the end of the game is blown by a captain by an awful penalty.

Any trade you thinking of in particular?

It looks like the potential we got in the Gratton/Ossi trade is already being realized (although I'm not sure why Morris didn't play tonight). I can't think of many other "potential" trades other than the ones a few years ago with Tkachuk and Khabibulin. In those we received Nagy, Taffe, Mara, and Johnson, who are all now solid NHLers.

Yeah, Doan really screwed the pooch on that play at the end. When you are 6 on 3, you can afford to dump it around the boards. It looked like he panicked. I think he didn't realize how much time was left.

One mistake was letting Brier out of the organization. The rules are set up perfectly now for him. And Boucher for Esche wasn't all that great. Who did we get for Handzus? I can't remember anymore.

Anyway, I'm not ready to throw in the towel yet. Most of those missed passes were from a lack of team chemistry, not lack of talent. It takes a while for players to get a feel for where a person will be and how fast he will be moving.

They looked whipped in the third. Short bench, back to back games. Maybe they need a little more conditioning.

Saprykin and Gauthier, both already solid NHLers.
