New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel met with media members on Tuesday and shared an update on wide receiver Stefon Diggs' recovery from the torn ACL injury he suffered last season.

The Patriots signed Diggs to a three-year, $69 million deal in free agency. He is expected to serve as the top new receiving option for second-year quarterback Drake Maye.

Since the injury, Diggs has been working his way back to health. A recent video posted to his Instagram showed how far he's come in such a short amount of time. His knee looked strong when cutting and running at full speed in and out of his routes.

"I think he's doing everything like everybody else," said Vrabel. "He's working hard; I think he's excited about being here and being a Patriot. He's a motivated player, he's a hungry player, just like everybody else that's here."

The expectation is that Diggs will be ready by the start of the season.

He figures to be a focal point in a Patriots offense that has been missing a true No. 1 receiver for years. There's hope that Diggs' talent can uplift the struggling offense, while also rubbing off on some of the younger players at the position.
