This weeks devestating loss to the Saints has put the Patriots in a tough spot.
Their lead has been sliced down to 2 games over the Dolphins with 5 to go. They must travel to Miami this week.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. Would you rather lose a close game, or would you rather have the game decided in the middle of the 3rd quarter?

My guess is things would be worse. When you lose like we did Sunday at the very least you can pick one, two or three plays out and say we could have won. You can at least feel good about the fact that we competed.
When you lose 38-17 there is a total meltdown.

i actually think the Patriots of old are gone, and they are never coming back. Belicheck and Brady's championship times are over IMO. In fact, I'm not even certain they can win a playoff game.

I don't count them out, maybe this year. But they will reload. They have tons of picks in the draft. Brady is still the QB. They still have Moss. Just revamp the D.

They've been good for so long it's hard not to imagine them getting better again but so much of their success, IMO, was based on good veteran players willing to go there for a discount price to win a championship.

Yeah, I'm not sure they have it in them anymore to develop young players. It's all "win now" which means they can't tolerate youthful mistakes.
