The New England Patriots waived wide receiver Cody Hollister with a non-football injury distinction and signed offensive lineman Nate Theaker, per ESPN’s Field Yates. Hollister spent last season on the practice squad and was a longshot to make the active roster. His twin, Jacob Hollister, is a favorite to make the team as a back-up to Rob Gronkowski at tight end. It’s possible we haven’t seen the last of Hollister, who could return when deemed healthy. Theaker is a 6’5, 315 pound offensive lineman with experience at both guard and tackle.
