We've given him several chances this year, and so far he has stunk. JP - we are giving you every chance to be a big league pitcher - don't blow it!!

Another disappointing outcome for Patterson. When is the light going to come on?

No, he didn't exactly get shelled. But, still disappointing nonetheless.

5 innings pitched with 8 hits four earned runs and 4 walks is not a good outing. Before Patterson had Tommy John surgery in 2000, he was throwing 96 miles an hour. Now he tops out at 92. For whatever reason his arm has not come back to presurgery form. Patterson throws a pretty straight ball, so he has to command it to both sides of the plate and live on the black which he is not doing. His once great biting curveball does not bite anymore, it rolls. Unless he gets his velocity back, he will never be more than a good triple A pitcher. I'm sure D-Back management looks at him as an enigma. Andrew Good would be a better option at this point over Patterson in my opinion.

He really looked like a different guy out there last season. I wonder if putting on 15 lbs of muscle this off-season messed up some small element of his control/release. I was thinking Good or Gonzalez looked better right now too. And you can see it is getting to Patterson's head - he looks tense and uneasy out there, whereas he looked very poised and cool in the past.

Now they're going to screw up Capuano's recovery by pitching him hard prematurely. Grrrr!

It's hard to fathom the recent trend of bringing up a new AAA guy for spot starting before sending him back down.

I keep thinking maybe they're showcasing for themselves to find out who's a keeper and who can be comfortably traded. Not at all sure this is the way to do that. Capuano said it was "chaos" up here, and he's right. A lot of that is dings and scrapes, of course. Right at moment, Schill, RJ, Webb, Kop, Prinz, and Mantei are all down at once, some for a couple days, some for months. And Miggy's unjust suspension and BK's persisting ankle pain factored in for awhile, too. What a MESS!

And whoever it is in the organization that thinks Looch shouldn't be 15-day DL'd should have their own head examined - guy has10-15 minutes of retrograde amnesia, wasn't coherent for over an hour, seeing double, couldn't walk under his own power - his timing will be off for at least a week, if not two or three.

Football players need nearly the whole week off after such a hit to be able to function properly, and baseball is much finer in terms in timing.... so Dellucci shouldn't be in the lineup for an extended period. Not sure why the delay on putting him on the DL ... Robbie is a proven guy that could help from the bench.

Pitching staff is being put together with scotch tape at the moment.... total mess!

:D (sarcasm mode on)
Zenny,
I'm sure the D'backs medical and coaching staff know exactly what they are doing. I hope you aren't implying they are "old school" Neanderthals who'd say "play through it boy, it's just in your head" (literally) who might be suspicious about David Dellucci, because of his "injury" history.

Naw, that couldn't happen on our team--more than once.

(sarcasm mode off)
Carry on. :)
