Teams in bold still in playoff hunt.

A case could be made for Pittsburgh as well

As Chicago Teams show, money doesn't buy a good team.

Like the Cubs did...
No Hendry is an idiot. How about just not like the cheap teams that haven't won anything in forever.

But if you want them to not sign any big name free agents like say Randy Johnson, more power to you....

i would love them to sign a big name - but the RIGHT one.

I am more hoping we can KEEP our pitchers, and Drew, etc.

We need an upgrade at 2nd and 3rd.

We will see what Goldie can do before declaring that as a need.

Come on Dbacks, show me the money!

Let's see if this team makes the playoffs and how that plays out first. I think there's still a lot of reconstruction that needs to be done, and throwing money at the kind of problems the D-Backs have isn't always the solution. In fact it often creates more problems.

To be very honest of we need a CF, I would look no further than AA at AJ Pollock. That guy is ready IMO, so if trading Young can net us a nice return then maybe we should consider it but with us being in the thick of the playoff hunt I think this is going to be the roster with Trevor Bauer coming up in September if we make the playoffs.

Pollock call up would be interesting, but I think it's really early on him. He didn't have a complete year last year after the arm surgery.

Teams toward top of money list win, and towards bottom don't. You at correct in that there is no reason to go crazy right now.

But it's usually homegrown talent + key acquisitions. It doesn't happen overnight. You don't just go out and buy a playoff team. If you do, even if you succeed you end up losing. Just ask Colangleo. And Arizona will NEVER have the revenue to compete with the salaries of New York, Chicago and LA teams. That's just a reality you'll have to come to grips with.

Are the Tigers are big market team somehow? the Rockies? Mariners? the Brewers? Seems to me the Dbacks have homegrown talent all over the roster. They should be able to solidify the lineup by spending some money. At least spending more than the lowly Marlins.
