PCI Express Video Card Question...

Would a PCI Express vidcard work on a normal PCI slot? I'm thinking that it would, just not at 16x speeds.

I'm just not sure, so I thought I would tap the collective knowledge of THE BOARD!

Although I must say that a PCI-PCI bridge that would allow this to work with older hardware is supposed to be released soon
