Talking about being better than Curt - doing more than Curt - deserving more money than Curt.

Message to Pedro - at 38, Schilling is your absolute equal at 33 in the regular season and is twice the pitcher you will ever be in the post-season when it counts.

Anyone who was on that thread a while back defending this buffoon and saying he will be held in higher regard than Schilling, or even in equal regard to Schilling, in Boston should realize how much of a joke those statements are.

Pedro - you had a dominating 5-6 year regular season run - Schilling has been solid for over 12 years and DOMNINATING in the post-season.

Who's your Daddy? Boston made it pretty clear - his name is Schilling you jerry-curled little bitch.

Yeah, like I could have predicted that Pedro would have ran to NY only for the money and then badmouthed Boston on his way out.

And as far as who history will remember, the numbers and awards speak for themsleves as to who was the better pitcher.

which numbers and awards - the regular season ones or the post-season? Pedro's got three more years Max in this league - as does Schilling and in the end game - even their regular season wins will look the same, and with the way Pedro's pitching, I wouldn't be surprised if their ERA'S get closer as well.

Mao - in defining a man's career, there's more to it than just one spectacular 5-6 year regular season run.

are you really surprised by anything that has transpired with Pedro? Come on - you're more a savvy sports fan than to be that surprised by anything he's done since the season ended.

Pedro's a 5'11 170 pound power pitcher. Guys like that only have 5-6 good years. I didn't see a situation like this happening because I figured the Sox would give him an extension sort of as a 'thank you' for the last seven years, but Boston's new front office smartly will not do that. Pedro has always been a jackass but I didn't think the fan base of Boston would allow that team to be broken up after last year.

I agree both have a maximun of three years left (Schilling will play out his contract and Pedro will last as long as his shoulder holds out) and then we'll see their numbers may be slightly comparable as far as total strikeouts and wins go, but ERA will be favored towards Pedro becuase he has a solid head start and is moving to the NL and Shea Stadium. Winning percentage and k/9 will also be heavuly in Pedro's favor.

I would be willing to bet anyone that Pedro never starts a playoff game for the New York Mets.

schilling will not go down in history as a great pitcher becouse of his regular season numbers, but becouse of his post season heroics.

schilling will go down in history because he was a very good regualr season pitcher and was able to elevate his game to unequaled levels in this era in the postseason - as opposed to Pedro, who had fanastic numbers for a six year run and never made a definitive mark in the post-season.
