RobinsonPhiladelphia 76ers: Glenn Robinson may have fallen out of the frying pan and into the fire. The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that the small forward may be coming off a league suspension but may miss more games because of a sprained ankle. "He's had some good practices," new head coach Randy Ayers said. "I thought he did a nice job of trying to keep himself focused. We played him a lot with the backups in practice. He's pretty good - I know that. He can score."
Detroit Pistons: It isn't seventy percent, yet. But, thank goodness it isn't 50 percent, either. "I think we are at about 60 percent of what we can be," Chucky Atkins said in the Detroit News. "The production from the bench still hasn't been there like we had it last year. And we haven't all been on the same page, yet." Chauncey Billups also held tight to the company line. "I'd say we were in the 60-percent range in terms of our efficiency," Billups said. "You look at us some times and we're like at 80 or 85 percent. You look at us another time and we're like 40 percent. We are going to have to deal with these speed bumps from time to time. All we can do is play the right way and do things to win the games."
Miami Heat: Pat Riley wants to get a few things off his chest. "I categorically do not want to coach, I categorically do not want to do television, I categorically am not interested in going anywhere else other than being in Miami," he said in the Miami Herald. "The decision on how long I'm in Miami is going to have to do with [owner] Micky Arison, not with me or somebody else. That's it. I've been here eight years. I've got a 10-year contract and I'm going to honor that. I'm not thinking of doing anything else.'' However, he did stop short of saying he was officially retired as a coach. "I deserve the right to be happy, just like anybody else."
KiddNew Jersey Nets: Jason Kidd has played 40 or more minutes in each game this season and his coach has seen it affect the second half of games. "Probably a little bit of it is being tired because we've got so many guys who are out," Byron Scott said in the New York Post. "Fatigue might be a factor."
Denver Nuggets: Nikoloz Tskitishvili has fallen and he's having a hard time getting up. "It really hurts," he said in the Rocky Mountain News. "I'm having a hard time bending it." The forward hurt his left knee in Thursday's game and is unsure if he well be able to go on Tuesday.
Utah Jazz: The Salt Lake Tribune is reporting that X-rays on Carlos Arroyo's left ankle were negative and that he suffered only a severe sprain. The point guard missed Saturday's game and his status will be determined before tonight's game.
