Washington Wizards: Now that the NBA Finals are over, Eddie Jordan, currently an assistant coach with the New Jersey Nets, can get to the business of running his own team. The Washington Post is reporting that the D.C. native is next in line to interview for the head coaching position with the Wizards. Because of his roots in the area, the paper is reporting that he is the favorite to take the position eve though both he (with the Sixers making a strong bid) and the Wizards have talked to other parties about future employment.
Philadelphia 76ers: The Philadelphia Inquirer, however, is reporting that the Sixers have the inside track on Eddie Jordan because they are less of a rebuilding project. Even if Net executive Ed Stefanski is given the GM job in Portland, the Blazers have refused to let coach Maurice Cheeks go to Philly, meaning that Stefanski probably won't be bringing Jordan to Portland. If Jordan passes on the Sixers, the Inquirer says that the job would fall to assistant coach Randy Ayers, who has been with the team for six years under Larry Brown.
Boston Celtics: Bruno Sundov, the 7-foot-2 center who averaged 1.2 points and 1.1 rebounds per game this season, has exercised his players option on his contract and will return to Boston for another season. The Boston Globe is reporting that he will earn $750,000 next season.
