Penn State wrestling came to Philadelphia this weekend to dominate at the NCAA wrestling championships, and the Nittany Lions are more than leaving their mark on the mat. With a fourth consecutive national championship coming into reach, Penn State will see three of its wrestlers compete for a national championship on Saturday and all 10 wrestlers in Philadelphia this weekend have earned All-American status.

This is just the second time in NCAA history a program has had 10 All-Americans. The other was Minnesota in 2001. Tyler Kasak (157 lb) was upset in the quarterfinals on Friday but rebounded for a victory later in the evening to secure his All-American status. Freshman Luke Lilledahl (125 lb) defeated Wisconsin's Nicolar Rivera and Braeden Davis (133 lb) topped Evan Frost of Iowa State in the consolation semifinals to become All-Americans.

Penn State's Carter Starocci (184 lb), Josh Barr (197 lb), and Mitchell Mesenbrink (165 lb) will all compete for NCAA gold on Saturday night. Lilledahl, Davis, Beau Bartlett (141 lb), Shayne Van Ness (149 lb), Kasak, Levi Haines (174 lb), and Greg Kerkvliet (285 lb) will all be in action in the consolation rounds.

Penn State holds a 34-point lead over Nebraska in the overall team standings at the start of the day. Penn State has won each of the past three NCAA team championships and is looking for its 12th national title under Cael Sanderson. The Nittany Lions remain a solid favorite to clinch the team championship on Saturday, and having so many Nittany Lions in action makes it likely that will end up being the case.
