Per @AllBrightNFL, Sam Darnold is the #1 overall pick

Some of you saw me delete a tweet. If you caught that tweet, good for you. No further comment on it.

I actually find it odd that the first pick is such a secret. If I was the Browns and had a QB rated #1 that I was clearly going to take, I'd be celebrating that fact. Knowing the NFL, they are telling the Browns to keep it quiet so the draft show will have more intrigue.

My guess is it's strategy since they also have #4.

Whatever they do at 1 effects what happens at 4, and if they tip their hand, they give other GM's time to trade up and potentially screw them. Do it on the clock and they only have ~20 minutes (picks 2 and 3) to make a move.

It isn't a secret. It was never or should never have been in question. Darnold is the clear top QB in this class.

This is a good thing imo. It probably keeps QBs from going 1-2, which slides another QB down a slot.

If they would’ve picked Allen, the Gmen would probably select Barkley according to rumors.

If the Cards are indeed interested in trading into the top 5 for Mayfield or possibly Rosen, this would likely help their chances...unless the Gmen trade #2. Lol

Bob Glauber (@BobGlauber) tweeted at 2:50 PM on Wed, Apr 25, 2018:
Sam Darnold has chosen "Enter Sandman" by Metallica as his walk-up song for his selection. "I was debating all these songs. I just thought it would be fun and entertaining." ("Enter Sandman" was former Yankees reliever Mariano Rivera's walk-up song.)
