In arizona he had fumble problems and got better about it over time. He also was pretty bad when he came here and we were all calling for Lienart to come in. Over time, coaching and etc he improved and got back to elite level. he credits Haley often on helping him improve and Haley often commented on Warners willingness to be coached and improve on little things.

Everyone can improve on everything in our lives and having a coach makes it easier. period. If coaching doesnt matter for elite people why do they still need a coach? silly argument.

Position coaches in the NFL are mainly around to teach professional fundamentals/work eithic to young players and to be a sounding board to veteran players. With Warner, Haley did a very good job in pushing him to keep his fundamentals despite being pressured quite often. It is easy under pressure to lose some of the basics of fundamentals.

Hard to touch the significance of that season. Amazing stuff.

I got the entire series on DVD from Amazon for under $70. Everyone should have to watch it.

I'm not bashing the OP, but has Jurecki been right on anything lately? Not saying it isn't true, but it seems like he jumps the gun quite a bit these days.

I see your point but I would hope every QB at the NFL level coach knows fundamentals, footwork, and mechanics. My point is they can only do so much. After that, it's more about the talent of the player.

Don't discount the value of a QB coach as:

"QB Whisperer."

(i.e. how important is it that the QB has someone on the sidelines he has confidence in, can confide in, will always be truthful in his criticism and will stay in his face when necessary to make sure those fundamentals, footwork, and mechanics are consistently adhered to)?
