Ive done the optimistic pre season thing for 3 years in a row now so trying my best to change my mentality

And i must admit when i looked at our opponents this year i struggle to see where more than 8 wins are coming from.

Those road games look brutal.

Do you get to have whiz as coach? Who did you draft?
Yup Whiz is a the HC, CP is DC and Carthon is my OC. I couldn't get Spencer as the ST coach. I have the 5th pick and drafted a ROLB. I also drafted OT, DE, RB, DT, MLB. I lost my third round draft pick to sign Max Starks. I signed Ken Hamlin, Nick Harper, Nate Clements and some mid-tier O linemen and defnesive linemen.

Have a Card Kool-aid with a whisky chaser and you'll not only warm up, you'll have visions of the Cards playing in the Super bowl in U. of P. stadium at the end of next season. :D

Sorry to break up this pessimism party, but what about our schedule makes you think 8-8 is our result?

The thing we must remember is, it's all about match-ups. Now, bargaining that the offensive line improves its play and Matt Leinart becomes a more mature quarterback, we will win the ten games against the Redskins, Seahawks, Rams, Lions, Browns, Buccaneers, and 49ers by default. Statistically, that is seven teams on the wrong half of the points allowed chart. They gave up 343, 381, 356, 353, 398, 376 and 412 points. Even if two of the defenses improve, and my money would be on Tampa Bay and either Seattle or San Francisco, that's still five or six games I like my chances on if just our offense performs.

I really only see three sure losses, and I think we'll lose two more to go 11-5.

I think the Saints are a loss, Bengals are a loss, and we'll split with the Seahawks.

The other two could be the Rams and maybe the Steelers.

Here's the lowdown on defense. Our defense will hopefully have top notch corners who can make picks because of our 13 projected opposing QB's, five had INT% rankings of
32. Ben Roethlisberger 4.9% who our coach should know pretty well
30. Charlie Frye 4.3%
23. Jon Kitna 3.7% who was sacked 62 times this year
21. Alex Smith 3.6% who is 0 for 4 trying to beat the Cardinals
18. Michael Vick 3.4%, who was 31st in completion percentage

This doesn't include young Jason Campbell or Chris Simms, or the bad in the red zone Jake Delhomme or the fumble prone Steve McNair, Drew Brees, or Matt Hasselbeck each of which cost his team at least one game with turnovers.

Simply put, Marc Bulger, Carson Palmer, Drew Brees and Matt Hasselback are the only elite QB's I see on the schedule. The game against the Ravens and the two against the Seahawks are the only games against playoff teams from 2006.

I am with Wembley.

Until I see some wins, and a above .500 season I could care less about who is in and who is out.

JUST WIN!

Interesting analysis. Let's hope that the subpar QBs don't have banner games against the Cards(a la David CAr in 2005).

Hey we should play sometime .. I have to warn you I am pretty good sitting at 194 - 7
We should I don't know my overall record, but I know I am blowing out the computer 56-24. A few games I have been in the 70's. Matt has a kickbutt QB rating.

When I look at the schedule I can see us at best 10-6 maybe 12-4 if we get real lucky. I have faith, but they still need to prove they can win before I feel real comfortable about next season. That said at worst I think we are 8-8 and still win the NFC West. My initial prediction however is 9-7. Unitl the final moves are made though I hate to think about next season, but I do like our chances.

Wins
SF x2
STL
SEA
WAS
ATL
CLE
TB
DET

Loss
CAR
BAL
SEA
PIT
NO
CIN
STL

I think the away game at STL could be a win. I also think we are capable of beating PIT, especially since Whis. knows Big Ben's weakness. I could also see us beating CAR. BAL, NO, @SEA, CIN are really tough games though.
