So basically if Whiz doesn't coddle Matt and tell him he's a special little guy every night before he goes to bed, he'll be erratic? Color me scared.

Yes, that's EXACTLY what he meant....:bang:

Ohh please, Chris. Your only attempt at an argument is to use ad hominem attacks. Don't even think you're innocent in that regard.

For example, this post and just about every single one when someone disagrees with you. The funny part is you like to call people "authoritative." Then you respond with "don't take the MB personal." Do you honestly think that AZ Finest and I go crying to our fiance and wife respectively when someone makes fun or tries to denigrate us? You are completely predictable. On top of that, you have worn out the big laughing smiley. Try some new shtick because clearly, your crap is old and antiquated. But AZ Finest and I made a sock puppet for you to help convey the message. Feel free to name him whatever you like:

Oh man, you're butting into this? How sweet of you to stick up for your U of A bf! I could go through this line by line, but frankly you're not even worth the time, you're at best a homeless man's version of AZ Finest. (That ain't a compliment BTW)

I'm definitely relieved that you're not discussing your MB life with your ladies, although it's almost as sad that you admit to having little U of A support group chats with AZ Finest to talk about the ASU bullies picking on you.

Besides last time we got into it, you start PM'ing me backing down and apologizing...At that point I felt bad, and decided to drop it. I don't need you to come running back and apologizing to me again, that was just sad. I'm sure AF will be touched that you have his back though, AB conversation bra, C yo ass outta here!

I learned how to respond to this one...

"Bro the day I start taking lessons from you on the type of venacular I want to use when I post, how to be a well rounded individual, and be respected by my business peers and social circle is the day I buy a gun, load it up, and pull the trigger.

Get laid."

Stick to putting pretty pictures of players in your sig line, that's about all you're good for.

I love the offseason!

Wait mitch is against having to adjust to different types of personallitys yet I remember when he "quit the team" on this board and we all had to coax him back, tell him how good of a poster and how valuable his posts are... isnt this the same thing? Regardless if youre pro or not people still have feeling and insecurities.

It lends a lot of credence to the statement "we hate in others what we most hate in ourselves" does it not?

Everyone’s entitled to their opinion and no one knows for sure if Matt’s going to work out or not. But it takes a lot for someone that struggles with the mental toughness to hang on a message board to call out someone with a mental toughness to make it to the NFL, let alone everything else he’s accomplished in his life.

:deadhorse2: I'm more worried about insecurities in my starting qb's than in my fellow message board posters. Thanks for adding nothing!

And you show me a photo of a human-being without insecurities and I'll show you a photo of Jesus Christ. I bet insecurities drives a lot of these guys. Have you ever watched the Fox pregame show have you ever seen anyone more insecure than Terry Bradshaw? A lot of these guys are driven by their insecurities or demons. Most celebrities are walking billboards for the clinically unstable are you kidding me. Who cares if Matt needs a little extra love to perform a lot of people are like that I'm just hoping it works.

First off I am not being duped by Coach speak. I am failry confident Wiz, like many of us, is not sure what he has in Matt.

Listen I am in the camp that Wiz wasn't fully sold on Warner when he announced him the starter before 2008 (and the competition back then was alot harder then everyone likes to remember save the Oakland game in which Warner was quite underwhelming as well) but went with the vet because of the road heavy first 4 games. Otherwise if he knew Warner was going to turn out to be what he ended up being the next two years, he would have scrapped the comp all together and likely named him starter in 2007 as well.

So my point is Wiz is being smart. He is hedging his bets and bringing in competition in the most important position in sports. Its funny because if Wiz had said "Well I am going to just go into 2010 with Leinart as the starter and 2 rookies behind him" everyone would have been KILLING him (rightfully so) for putting all his eggs in Matts basket. Now that he did the right thing and tried to bring in Whitehurst and Anderson, its because he doesn't believe in Matt????

I am okay with you being somewhat skeptical, and even thinking long term Leinart isn't the answer ( I myself am not sure) but when every bit of positive news about Leinart that comes out is excused away, and every Wiz quote and PC is analyzed like the Zapruder film to "read between the lines" to make it seem like he doesn't have faith in the kid, it tells you that you likely are not giving him a fair shot.

The bottom line is the samople size is small, and his pedigree, time in the system, and attitude since Warner retired should all be seen as positive signs.

Ultimately you may prove to be right, but I don't see the harm in acknowldeging the POSSIBILITY that Matt hasn't exactly been in the best circumstances to thrive the last two years and this season could be his breaking out party.

Keep in mind Mitch, you were already to ship Warner out of here in pre-2007 so its not like there is not precendent here. I am not attacking you but I will be honest that it does draw my ire when Cardinal fans want to throw Matt out with the bath water, when its pretty obvious that hes our best option for 2010 and has earned the right to be the undisputed starter for 2010.

This is one of the best posts I've read on this site.

Apparently I am worth the time since you took time to respond to me. So........whats youre excuse?

I apologized for getting into a heated argument the first time, then realized that you are just an idiot born and bred so I decided to let you make a complete fool out of yourself

I was going to say stick to something else, but you contribute nothing to this board. You might as well talk with the hacks at the official MB

Are you sure you aren't really K9? This can't be you, Catfish. Is this identity theft?

I just checked, and YEP, its me. You know we don't ALWAYS agree. Doesn't mean I don't respect your ideas and discussions though.

I really do feel this way about Leinart. I am not a big (Type A personality needed to be successful) fan. There are a number of really good QB's who were rather quiet and soft spoken people. Unitas, Starr, even Warner. These guys were great, but not dominating, (at least in the sense of demanding that everyone yield to their beck and call, or control things by yelling and hollering, and berating someone). They were all studious types who observed carefully what worked, and then perfected those things that did. They led with a quiet dignity and presence that commanded respect without bullying or berating someone to get that respect. Yet they were ALL true leaders, who demanded hard work and diligence. They just didn't need to light their hair on fire to show that they could lead.

I believe that Leinart is more like that too. Given his legitimate shot, I think he will surprise you with his quiet confidence in his own abilities. After all, confidence is the name of the game. Nothing prevails in winning than feeling, or knowing that you are going to win. Once he has shown his team mates he can win, they will be confident in him too.

Now, I could be wrong about Matt-----I just don't think so. He should at least be given his shot at the thing.

You misunderstand my opinion on Leinart, although since I've acquired the red H for "hater", it's easy to see why you may be confused. To make it easy, I've quoted myself in said thread:

"On the bright side, as a starter, when he has been protected, and has had good weapons around him, Leinart has been very effective. Seeing what the official cards website had to say about the run game today made me feel even better about the situation:

"The retirement of quarterback Kurt Warner should alter how the Cardinals approach their offense this season. Coach Ken Whisenhunt has cautioned that the Cards won’t suddenly run the ball all of the time, but it’s hard to believe that – given the production of both Wells and Tim Hightower – the running game won’t have a larger role.

“We have shown progress in the run game,” Whisenhunt said, “and it gives us optimism going forward that we can be more balanced.”

I think Matt will be much more successful not trying to run Kurt's offense, and instead handing the ball off more, and relying on play action. Trying to be Kurt is like trying to be Steve Nash, just like Goran, Matt will need to play within himself, and do what he can do. "

Hopefully, that doesn't qualify me as a "hater".

As I mentioned before:

"Don't get me wrong, if Matt plays like a pro bowler because he's told that he's the man, I'm fine with it. Hell, if he's just effective with easy passes and in play action, with a more of an emphasis in the running game, I'd be thrilled with that, and see it as a real possibility."

I have no idea what a "Goran" is, wasn't that some creature from Clash of the Titans?

Chris I don't think there's much of a chance that Leinart runs "Kurts" offense. You may see bits & pieces but that offense is gone!!! Thats not his strength & thus I think he will run what best suits Leinart & what Leinart tells him he's comfortable with. From what I've read in past articles, Wiz & the starting QB meet on Fridays or Sat to put in certain plays the QB likes.

Ask yourself this, what did the Steelers do best when they 1st won a Super Bowl with Wiz & Big Ben? They ran the ball alot because that was there strength. Warners strengths were going 3-4 wide & chunking it all over the field because he quickly reads defenses. That happened in St. Lou & AZ. When & if Leinart ever becomes that comfortable in an offense & proves he can do that, he will be given the same opportunity.

I like Matty and hope he succeeds but STOP acting like people are wrong if they don't think he will amount to anything!!! From what he has amounted to so far, people have a perfectly valid reason to question Leinart.

There is a difference between questioning him and totally writing him off. I believe he will be a good QB but I honestly do have my worries. Its just certain fans will give him NO chance.

But again I take it with a grain of salt especially with Mitch, he wanted to cut Warner and go in to the season with Shane Boyd as the only back up to Leinart a few seasons back. I am hoping his batting average with QBs is consistent, if so we can count on Leinart lighting it up this season.
