Addressing only that point . . . now that we have Hillenbrand, it doesn't matter as much if our new RF hits righty or lefty -- whether it's a 3-4-5 of R/L/R or L/R/L.
The other five look to be pretty balanced:
Counsell (L)
Spivey (R) or Kata (L-R)
Finley (L)
Cintron (L-R)
Catcher (R)
Yeah, for the over-all line-up it may be well-balanced, but they only have 1 RH-hitting OF (Danny Bautista) and McCracken was hitting coming into Friday's game w/ a .236 BA., OBP of and .521 OPS from the right-side..... Those 2 don't strike immediate fear into opposing pitchers nor doesn't help when most managers play the percentages these days, that would affect them until they add another menacing RH bat to go along w/Hillenbrand....
Case in point, the Dodgers had a "south-paw" Perez on the mound and Finley, Bautista, and Gonzalez (well I know he was intetionally walked a cpl times) didn't do much against him.... I even thought Bautista was over-rated back in his years coming up thru the Tigers farm-system and he still hasnt done anything merit a spot on the team and unfortunately really doesn't possess much trade value....
The only true RH hitting-OF in Tucson is Terrero and he doesnt seem to have much power... At least he's a threat on the bases, which would be welcomed whenever the Dbacks finally part with McCracken..... That's why it is imperative for Spivey to change his attitude and learn how to play RF, at least during the off-season and into Spring Training......
