He said the Diamondbacks don't want to pay the rest of his contract. Really Peter? Maybe the Yankees will want Ortiz?

That's a brilliant observation Petey. I'd say the same thing applies to Green and Gonzo as well. After nights like this the DBacks should be on the phone trying to get rid of contracts to contenders in hopes they can catch a player frustrated to the point where they'll waive their no-trade clause. Fat chance of that happening, I'm guessing the front office is still trying to acquire players for the pennant race.

State of the D-Backs...

Have you ever been more disgusted by the team and the management as now? We have a pretty expensive club, that has been given every opportunity to win the worst division in the history of baseball, and we are just terrible. It is truly pathetic, and this team isn't even likeable or watchable at that. They just get blown out time and time again, if it's not the weak bats it's the bullpen, and now even the starting pitching. This last offseason "master plan" may have set us back a few more years than I thought here...

Actually, we don't. Its only the 16th largest in baseball, and according to the front office, we are under budget. Thats probably one of the few things this team has going for it right now.

OK, those of us who were appalled by the Ortiz signing and predicted pretty much what we now have on our hands -

ONE

TWO

THREE

(all together now!)

TOLD YOU SO, JOE!

It maybe the 16th largest in baseball, but it's one of the most inflexible payrolls in baseball. Also 16th highest in saleries is a joke when you're one of the five worst teams in baseball.
