His neck is not at any more risk of injury than anyone else's at this point. That's not what was ever in question--what was in question was/is his arm strength.

All I saw was highlights but it sure didn't look to me like has the same velocity he used to? Also for a guy who throws a very tight spiral he had some wobblers.

But it was his first game back and he clearly looked better than anybody we have.

The more I think about it the more I'm glad we didn't sign Manning. At some point I want a frachise QB either Skelton or Kolb can become that guy this year or we draft a QB high that we think is one. I don't want 1-2 year windows from an older QB, the superbowl run was great but if we could be a team that every year has a shot it would be even better IMO.

Manning would have been the perfect bridge between the Now and the Future. Kolb and Skelton likely aren't it, and having Manning on the roster doesn't preclude a team from drafting the guy they want to be the guy in a couple of years. Case in point: the Broncos (they drafted Oswieler in the 2nd).

That said, it's over--the Cards made a very respectable run at Manning. Would have been great if he said yes, but he didn't. We move on.

You know, like working out with your team in the offseason, getting rythem and timing down with your WRS. Funny peyton moved the chains so easily in a brand new system with all new guys when Kolb still doesnt have it figured out.

He is the best of all time IMO, based on all that i have seen. Looking him dropping back and how he moves his feet, making reads, nobody has ever been this good. Those mechanics will never be replicated. He is the system. I think that only Unitas comes close in being the signal caller and qb that is comparable to Peyton Manning. And he is the only good signal caller in todays Nfl, all other teams are making the decisions from the sideline most of the time. That's why you can plug in Matt Cassell or Matt Flynn and still get very good production. Peyton is the only one that can quarterback a team with almost ultimate control. Let any other QB in the game get this kind of control, and i believe they regress.

Just one if his drops yesterday were more exciting than let's say a wholeseason of our own QB's.

His throws did not had the chemistry with the WRs he usually has, but this will come. Manning - Decker will be extremely fun to watch. Decker is that type of polished all around reciever that Manning loves to work with. I also believe he was one of the reasons he chose Denver.

Decker certainly wasn't the sole reason he chose Denver, but he was a part of it; Decker and Thomas are a very good pair of WRs for Manning to work with.If Denver's receivers looked like Miami's, he probably wouldn't have gone there.

Are either of them Fitz? No, of course not. But that's a fool's comparison. Having Fitz to throw to obviously isn't the only selection criteria.

Manning looked pretty good. But he is definitely not the same player. His ball fluttered quite a bit in the air. While he made the throw from hash to sideline to Decker it did take along time to get there. He's still good don't get me wrong but I don't think he's gonna have the type of years we were used to seeing.

It was behind. Manning will flutter one now and then but he's always had pretty tight spirals. IN the highlights I didn't see a single spiral.

Interesting point on dome vs Denver, it is easier to play in a dome.

Will be interesting. My guess is the arm strength is still coming back. Several teams wanted to sign him so clearly they all felt he could still play.

It was a bit behind, on a slant the receiver had to reach up to his shoulder area to catch it. It was tipped right before the catch attempt by the CB and then deflected off the WR's hands and right into the LB's lap.

If it wasn't slightly tipped, I believe the WR catches it for a TD.
