The New Orleans Saints have addressed some of their roster needs so far this offseason, but not all of them. There is also at least one spot they did make a move at, but still need more to come.

One of the first moves that the Saints made this offseason was trading for defensive lineman Davon Godchaux from the New England Patriots. Pro Football Focus' Bradley Locker recently came up with the worst-case 2025 NFL draft scenario for each team. For the Saints, it was them not adding more help to the interior past Godchaux.

This is what Locker had to say about his choice:

"New Orleans traded for Davon Godchaux, but he generated sub-56.0 PFF grades as a pass rusher and a run defender last year... If a player like Mason Graham makes it to Pick No. 9, then general manager Mickey Loomis should sprint in the pick; even if not, adding an interior defender by the end of the third round should happen."

While it is exciting that Godchaux is a Louisiana native that is making his way back for the first time since playing for the LSU Tigers, but the wariness is fair.

The 30-year-old has averaged 54 tackles with three for a loss and a little over half a sack per season for his eight-year career. The hope with him is that he can be at least somewhat of a solid run defender, but PFF has not given him a positive grade there since he had a 64.5 grade in 2021.

Adding more talent to the interior would certainly be fair, as it was a weak spot last season. It might not be the worst-case scenario if they don't, though.

Right now, the biggest hole on the roster seems to be in the cornerback room. Paulson Adebo walked in free agency and there haven't been any moves to really replace him yet. Kool-Aid McKinstry, Alontae Taylor and Isaac Yiadom seem to be the most likely starters right now, which is a group that desperately needs at least one more player added to it.
